St. John

We are stopping in St. Thomas on a cruise next spring. We've been there several times before so, just for something different, we're thinking about a beach day on St. John. Any recommendations for tour companies or excursions to take/avoid? Or should we just take the ferry over and catch a cab? Thanks!

Not all St Thomas stops are equal.  St John's works best when you have a long day in St Thomas.  What hours are you there?

Here was a day in St Thomas and the Royal excursion to St John's last year from Serenade:

This excursion was called  "St John's "All Inclusive" Beach & Snorkel".

If doing your own thing plan not to take the last possible ferry and don't assume a cab will be around when you need one.  Give yourself lots of buffer, islands ferries run on island time.

We changed our 2021 sailing so now we're going to St. Thomas AND St. John which is it's own port day instead of jamming SJ into our ST day, whoohoo!

I've searched the boards and see beaches at St. John, which I love, but wonder if there are other recommendations for SJ- or is it really a beach day is  (Which would be totally fine). EDIT: Just read Twangster's SJ portion of the blog above; wow amazing beaches and it looks like a little shopping possibly.

If anyone has a 'can't miss' St. John experience feel free to share here! Otherwise: 'underwater snorkel trail'? Sounds awesome.
