Crown & Anchor Husband & Wife Question

Recommended Posts

As a result of our last cruise my wife and I achieved Gold Status for our upcoming September cruise on Mariner.  When I signed up I was assigned a Crown & Anchor number which got us the "perks" (Priority Check in and Private Preboardling Lounge).  Do I need to sign my wife up for the program too and if so will be accumulate points/awards faster?  We always travel as a couple (duh!).

Congrats on Gold - welcome to Royal Caribbean!

Each one of you should have your own account and number.  You will not accrue anything faster, but there may be a situation where you don't cruise together and having your own number makes things easier.  I tend to always use my husband's number for checking prices and such, and the account I use for all Cruise Planner check-ins and purchases is tied to him, but we both do have our own.

Definitely, each person should get their own number - wife, husband and each kid.

My dad is going on his first cruise in November. Does he join Crown and Anchor on the ship or can he get a number before the cruise?

My husband and I went on our first cruise with Royal a little over a month ago. I think that I was able to obtain a Crown & Anchor number for myself online very soon  after booking the cruise with the travel agent. I didn’t think about my husband not having his own C&A number until right before we boarded the ship. So,  as soon as we boarded, we went to Guest Services, who told us to see the Loyalty Ambassador as soon as possible ( her office  opened right after the muster drill finished.)

In any case, it was a good thing that dh received his own Crown & Anchor number - he likes to gamble in the ship’s casino, and the casino club rewards system requires that each player have a C&A number. I very rarely gamble, but I wouldn’t want to be without a number myself.

Btw, we are Gold members, of course, but I will be darned if I can figure out how to change that “Pre-Gold” status that’s in my byline. I have already tried a few times, but no luck, lol!

Do you mean the Pre-Gold here on this site?

Oh, another reason to each have your own Crown & Anchor account, is so you each get a set of benefits.  It doesn't mean much now, but it will as you move up the ranks and you EACH get a buy one get one free beverage (specialty coffee, beer, glass of wine, milkshake) and other discounts.  If she doesn't have a C & A status, then you're missing out on some great benefits!

Your dad should sign up for crown and Anchor online or over the phone before the cruise and get his loyalty number so that he can then add his crib and Anchor number to the cruise and start earning points from the first day of each cruise all the way to the last day of each cruise.

Yes, I am not sure what “Pre-Gold”  in my byline means in these message boards. Anybody know if it’s actually related to our Crown & Anchor status?

Or maybe it’s that I have only made 2 posts so far ( but I am great at lurking, lol...)

This site is not connected with your Crown & Anchor account.  The line under your handle/name on this site is related to the number of posts you make.  Zero connection to crown and anchor.  It's just @Matt having fun.

It's related to your activity, not CAS.  Welcome!

Also remember that if you are in the same household and relationship each of you can be the same level as the highest member. I my wife goes on additional cruises with her friends and when she reaches the next level I call RCCL and they update me as well. Nice for perks and check-ins.

Just Checking  ...

Wife and I went on a 9 night cruise in May on the Grandeur.

I had gotten my Crown and Anchor membership number pre cruise. Wife received hers after cruise.

She was awarded her 9 points when she got hers, I am still waiting.

Question is .. Should we both get the 9 points or does just the "primary" name (evidently her)on the reservation get the points?

BTW, the cruise to New England and Canada was fantastic and we are booked for next April to Bermuda (2 night stay) on the Grandeur.

Thanks, Dave

The shared status is a nice thing. Other lines don’t do it. MSC for example doesn’t have any shared status.

Everyone gets points based on every night they spend on board.

It's possible they didn't link your pre-cruise CAS# and assigned you a new one like they did your wife.  Simply call the C&A team or email them, they straighten it out.

crownandanchor@rccl.com

‭(800) 526-9723‬

Having your confirmation # will help.  Your wife's account will have that in the "Past Cruises" section.

This may be a stupid question, but I thought that once you cruise you automatically get a C&A number assigned by Royal.  Does that still hold true?

I could be wrong, but I think you're sort of right. Once you cruise, there's an account per se, but it needs to be "activated" by registering for it? Certainly you need to set up your account before benefits start coming your way.

For years, I was always one cruise behind my wife (7 pts).  She was up to Emerald and I was still at Platinum.  We mentioned it to our travel agent and she told us to go to C&A desk on-board and it would be taken care of.  Sure enough, it took just a few minutes and I was bumped up to Emerald and our memberships are now linked.  We were told that we will always be at the higher of the 2 levels.

Replying to my original question.

After setting up a Crown and Anchor Account ( I don't remember how I did it ) I read somewhere (probably on here) that after completing your first cruise you would automatically receive your Crown and Anchor membership number and your points.

So I did NOTHING except wait to see if the wife got her membership and sure enough, about 4 weeks after the cruise she received an email welcoming her to the C&A.

As of now we have not done anything to set up out accounts, but will look into that.
