Well I will have a $250 OBC that will be available and I need ideas of what to spend it on....

I have excursions paid for, I have 3 nights of specialty restaurants paid for, I have Deluxe Drink Package & Internet paid for.

What else could I treat myself to?  No into SPAS....

I always add a little extra gratuity on the specialty dinning, so that goes on your account.

I like this idea ... I'd expand on this and tip the bar staff a bit too.

Cancel your current Deluxe Beverage Package and re-buy it with the credit applied.

I was thinking that too.

Can you use it at the casino? (Minus the fee for using seapass vs cash.)

You might want to check whether it is refundable or not.  If refundable, you don't need to spend it on this cruise (I am always thinking of the next one!).  To spend it now, the other suggestions have been good. Personally, I like Matt's idea of shore excursions.

We never buy drink packages. We drink enough, but in moderation. Utilizing Diamond perks, happy hours, party invites ... purchased drinks amount to maybe one by the pool around lunch, wine at dinner, a drink for the show .... etc .... so we end up purchasing maybe 3 or 4 drinks a day per person, maybe less some days. Our OBC usually takes care of that. I remember one trip with pre-paid gratuities and such where the bill at the end of the week after credits and perks was $4 and we had had a marvelous time.

I was told you cant use OBC to pay for prepaid gratuities, and that was coming from someone from Royal when I canceled my deluxe drink package and repurchased for cheaper,  so now Im confused!

Pre-paid would have been paid before you boarded the ship, so they would never hit your on board account.  If you don't pre-pay, the auto gratuity will hit your onboard account.

There are different varieties of OBC, and the "fine print" sometimes claims to disallow auto gratuity to be paid from certain types of OBC, depending on the cruise line and the year, but I've generally been skeptical that most cruise line computer systems can really tell the difference.  An onboard charge is an onboard charge, I think it's unlikely that various charges are categorized in that manner.  It would be possible to do, but would make the system more complicated.

Most of the time they are more worried about if the particular OBC is allowed to be refunded at the end of the cruise.

I generally find ways to spend money onboard, so I've never really worried about it.
