Harriet
I’m already thinking of our Alaska trip for 2020 in June. Does anyone know do I need to bring hiking boots or hiking shoes.
Dogbreath
If you plan on hiking - yes. Otherwise no. There is lots to do without hiking. Conversely, there are plenty of hiking trails. Either way, I'd bring waterproof shoes / boots.

I bought waterproof shoes, and they were great but overkill since I did not actually go hiking.
Harriet
Thank you for the feed back so far we are planning on doing the train excursion and the whale watching. Any other recommendations you may provide this is our first time in Alaska and Canada.
