maeffron
Traveling on the Harmony. Does the app provide push notifications now? If so, were you using Royal IQ or the new Royal Caribbean International app? Did you have to pay? How reliable was it?
AshleyDillo
Can't answer if they got push notifications working..but the chat was free on Harmony in March when you connected to the ship's wifi. You didn't have to purchase a Zoom package. Without the push notifications it's only as reliable as remembering to check the app to see if you have a message. Harmony doesn't use the RoyalIQ app, it uses the other one. maeffron

We used the App feature with their wifi. maeffron
mnshortie21
I guess I'm confused by this. How can you connect to the ships WIFI if you don't have their internet package? Is it something different or it just allows it for the Royal app?
twangster
The ship wifi is available for anyone to connect to without buying a Voom plan. You won't be able to reach the internet, but you can use the app and you can visit royalcarribean.com for free. At home many people associate WiFi to equal The Internet. Technically that isn't the case. WiFi is how you connect to the ship's network. A paid Voom plan then enables you to reach the internet over the ship's WiFi network. Without a paid Voom plan you can still connect to the ship's WiFi and use the app. maeffron and ChessE4

doubleJ
Thanks for this post. Regarding our kids phones. Do I need to create an account for them on their phone? Kids are 11 and 13. I just downloaded the App and it's on the Sign In or Create Account screen.

You will need to download the app to each phone. When the kids sign in you will put in your reservation confirmation number and all the information will populate to the app (room number, schedule, etc...). At least that has worked for us on our android phones. doubleJ
