Nursery/Nassau Questions

Recommended Posts

Hello all, first off I love the blog, lots of great content.  I am sailing on Allure of the Seas in a couple weeks and have a question about the nursery.  My wife and I have been on cruises before but this will be our first with our son who will be 14 months old.  I was thinking about using the nursery in the afternoon between 2-5 since that is after his mid-day nap.  I understand they don't serve food in the nursery, but normally my son has a snack during this time period - can we drop something off with him (like a pouch and some goldfish)?  Also, after you book the nursery the first day, how strict are they with the time?  For example,  if he wakes up from his nap early could I drop him off at 1, or if he sleeps later could I drop him off at 2:30 or 3?

Also, totally separate question, but our first stop is going to be Nassau, any suggestions on what we could do?  Already have a full beach day planned in St. Martin so looking for something different within walking distance with a stroller.  Was thinking about the pirate museum, any other ideas for the area?  Looking for something that would take maybe an hour or two.

Thanks!

You can bring food to give to the staff to provide.  Classic example is a bottle and formula.

You could certainly try to go a little early or later.  They are usually as accommodating they can if they have space.  I guess what I am saying is you can certainly try, no harm in that.

We've used the nursery on a hand full of ships, Allure being one of them. From what we have found, they are accomidating assuming they have the space.. With the exception of the late drop off.. As the nursery is a paid service, if there is a high demand and you do not show up on time and you do not notify them, you will be charged for the time anyway. They charge in 30 min increments.. I believe you need to let them know 4 hours prior to your scheduled time if you want to change. If its dead and nothing is going on, then I don't think you will have an issue. Best advice is to get a feel for the nursery staff as soon as you get on the ship.. If they are nice and laid back, you wont have a problem either way.

We brought food pouches and snacks for our 14 month daughter. No problem.

Also they did have food. Pizza and grapes mostly lol. But that was around meal times.

They didn't seem to really like is dropping in on them, but I called from the stateroom prior to heading that way, it was no big deal to bring them early
