WAAAYTOOO Posted January 24, 2016 Report Share Posted January 24, 2016 We generally receive 43 - 46% discount on cabins. Cash rebate runs between $200 - $400 per person, per cruise. I have never been comped a room. Free drinks in the casino BUT as Marc suggests, this perk is entirely at the discretion of the host, and I have read that the cost of comped drinks is subtracted from whatever cash rebate you accrue. I don't drink much so I've never noticed any reduction in my rebate. I am not a high roller. I never play slots so it's a little more difficult to quantify my play. I generally bet $30 - $50 per hand but my strength is that I am in the casino a LOT. I find the casinos with the electronic "trackers" are more beneficial to me than those that do not have them. I have also found that bringing big money to the table helps. That does NOT mean that you have to spend a lot...just bring a lot to the table. I never go to a table without at least $1k....you just have to be disciplined not to spend it all ! Again, as Marc suggests, it is very frustrating to have absolutely no idea what "level" they consider me to be. Obviously, I am not a top tier. I have never had a comped room (not from RCI, anyway) but am I near the top, near the bottom, who knows ? From what I understand, we will all be placed into some new "tier" based on our previous play over some period of time - that period of time is different, depending upon who you ask. Then, going forward, you will have to requalify periodically to retain your status. I spend about $2,000 - $2,500 on slots now that's not to say I lose it all. I have to say most of the time I try to just break even because I enjoy the cabin discounts so for me I feel like I come out ahead... For my Feb Harmony Cruise I got a Fantastic deal on a 2 bedroom Aqua theater suite Star class room. It normally goes for $12,000 and I am getting it for $6,200.. To me that's a steal and worth it! We booked our parents into a grand loft suite, total savings $12,876 and we're booked into a superior ocean view, total savings of $2350. We booked this in August last year and when we originally booked it was through Mlife as platinum members. We sailed in Oct, was welcomed into Club Royale and our pricing dropped about $1000 total. We're currently looking at upgrading to the Royal Loft Suite for a super good deal through the Casino, but with the Canadian dollar it is still quite expensive **crossing fingers it drops more LOL. My husband and I maybe gambled total about $2000 each (mostly tables) and we received a combined $500 rebate towards this sailing. The host comped dinner at Portofino for eleven of us with a $200 credit for wine. That was truly exceptional. I earned about $1,300 in a rebate for my next cruise. Most cruises since then, I earn about 3,000 points, only get free drinks in the casino, and a ~$500-700 rebate on my next cruise. Like I said, I was doing very well, so I was doing some wild stuff including raising the credit value on the machine to 5¢ and betting something like $15/spin. As far as the comp went, the host had mentioned that he was willing to comp my companion and me dinner at a specialty restaurant. I told him that I was already booked to go with a group of friends. He asked how many of us there were and after I told him that there were elevent of us, he then suggested that I should check with him the day before we were scheduled for that dinner and he'd see what he could do. That day, he told me that he'd be able to comp the whole group. The $200 wine comp was a surprise to us, though. When they asked us about having wine with dinner, we all declined, but the server said, "The casino host has included a $200 comp for wine." I was shocked! What was the expression of the dealer/croupier/roulette marble person when it landed on "0"? A calculator was used for the green chips? Did the green chip holder tip? Finally, kind of like witnessing a 300 game in bowling; the entire casino stopped didn't it? I'll hold back my tax questions for later... I was playing roulette next to a guy that was averaging $1000.00 per spin of the roulette wheel. I was talking with him and he said the casino Royale comps his entire trip and hands him $5000.00 in casino cash (which I saw) when he walks into the casino.
