If I could have gone back in time, I would have booked it for our Anthem cruise we were just on. Seats went like hot cakes, even with reservations.

Where were the seats?  If up front near/at front row then that would be a reason to book (although at the same time, hard to spend $ when you can also see it for free)

Not sure where, but considering I ended up sitting behind a pole, it's hard to imagine it would have been any worse.

On the most recent Anthem cruise that @Matt is referring to, there were no reserved seats at the very front for suites/The Key/Insider's View guests.  Only Star Class had the front rows.  I noticed the the reserved seats for others were one section up above the sound booth.  Still centered but raised from the main section.  This applied to all shows (not just WWRY) that we watched in the theater.

Hmmm.  Have to think about this for January.  It will be my 4th time seeing it, but I'm already looking forward to seeing it again.

Just go early and line up.  I was first in line at 45min prior to show time.  No trouble getting seats.  #exilefromstarclass?

But @Matt is correct.  It did fill up quickly and we didn't even go at the same showtime.  People were saving entire rows of seats.  Some even reported that people were saving seats for those in the stand by line.  It was pretty ridiculous.

Ouch....At least the music is great, but I'm sure you wanted to SEE the show too. ?

Interesting. I've heard that The Key isn't always front row and in fact is more often the front row balcony.  To me, these are not prime seats.

I think on Symphony, the Insider was main level but also further back....but I know it varies ship to ship.

Sounds like you need to get there quite early , and even then, no guarantee .  DD and I often line up 45min - 1hr early anyways so sounds like we need to stick to this plan.

Same here.  Saw it 4 or 5 times when it was in Toronto about 10 years ago, but love it.  Can't wait to see it again on Anthem.

The seats that @Lovetocruise2002 is referring to were not in the balcony but directly behind the sound mixer board, sort of up a half level, I had made reservations but was also in a suite and got there 20 minutes before the show with no issues, but my wife and I had to become the seat police and help the poor little girl that was trying to keep the reserved seats reserved, people were getting very rude with her.

I would highly recommend this show, it is by far one of the best production shows I've seen on a Royal ship, the lead male singer on Anthem di a pretty good job of imitating Freddie Mercury.

Just got off Anthem this morning. We had 6 adults. We had a row left of center for The Gift with 6 seats just after the steps ended. We reserved WWRY at 2:30 yesterday (cruising day). I went down at 2:05 and was able to get the same row. There were red Star Class reserved signs all over and the Insider View was down around rows 3 & 4. Funny listening to a few of the New Yorkers whining about all the red Star Class banners and reserved seats.  With 6 of us I wouldn't pay $300 for Insider View. I would only by if you really want to show up 15 minutes before and be guaranteed a good seat. They start freeing them up 5-10 minutes before for standby folks. If you do pay for them, don't be late!

Ok... This drives me totally nuts!! I can see one seat or two... Someone is in the bathroom or buying a drink.  I wish royal would start offending people and limit the chair hogging in the theaters and the pool...I'm offended by them NOT telling people to quit!!  Oh well.... Always happens....   Jane

I have done this tour on the Anthem.

The reserved seating for the excursion is in the second row, center. The third and fourth row center is the reserved seating for the Key.

Upon arriving at the theater, you hand your excursion ticket to the cruise staff member standing by row 2. The excursion includes a specialty drink. After the show, you wait until everyone else has left the theater and then you are escorted back stage, behind the curtain. The cast is there and you will have a lot of time to talk with them, ask questions, take photos. Then they will all pose with each passenger for a group photo which they take with your camera/smartphone (in other words...no ship photographer for a fee). As you leave, you get a large photo of the cast signed by all of them. It was a very interesting, pleasant experience but you must decide if it is worth the price to you.

Happy cruising!

Insider View I believe comes with a backstage tour and a Q&A session with the performers.  I'd imagine the monetary value is more in that and the reserved seating is just a bonus.  I can't imagine folks are shelling out just for the seating alone.

I saw this in the cruise planner, or someplace else, but did not purchase it...and regretted it a bit.  I like to do those backstage things when I can.

A few cruises back I  went to a free Q&A session with (on I think Adventure OTS) 8 of the ships singers and dancers...and enjoyed it on sea day.  Definitely I would do again on a sea day without something else at the same time.
