Sabor questions - Liberty of the Seas

We are booked for our first cruise on Liberty of the Seas in September. I have a few questions:

1- We have the deluxe beverage package. Is it possible to just go to the bar for a drink at Sabor without paying the cover? It looks like they have unique options. 

2- Right now, it's $30 to book on cruise planner and recent cruise compasses list it as $30 on board. Does it ever get discounted? Is there any benefit to booking ahead of time, aside from better choice of seating times?

1) No it is not, there is no bar at Sabor.  You have to have purchased dinner/lunch at sabor to get a drink there.  The schooner bar across the hall can make the PERFECT margarita but not the other ones.

2) IMO a 30.00 dinner at sabor + what you paid in your included dinner as part of your cruise fare is quite a lot for the food they offer there.

No they do not discount Sabor by itself typically.

Was just on LOS last week. If you want Sabor's margaritas, you would need to go dine in.

Kind of one of the reasons why I bought the UDP (unlimited dining pkg).

I went in more than a few times just for a dish or two, and had 2 or 3 or 4 margaritas (and/or tequila shots).
