Suggest trying the cafe outside of the 270 for breakfast. Was never really crowded there when we sailed back in June . Good breakfast sandwiches , lots of fresh fruit and pastries too.

Yeah, that is our favorite place for breakfast on anthem too.  Last cruise we went there almost every morning.

Sometimes they don’t leave the breakfast sandwiches in the panini press long enough, so they aren’t quite warm enough in the center. But the quiet atmosphere and the view of the wake from 270 makes up for it.

All other items are the same as Night 2 on my previous Anthem blog (see link in signature below or on Pg. 1 of this blog).

Hubby also got the Mascarpone Cheesecake. It was slightly strange tasting.

Gotta be honest, Cafe Two70 breakfast was underwhelming for me. No variety from day to day, and I like having an omelette or other eggs with breakfast most mornings when I'm on vacation. Might try getting an omelette in WJ and then bringing it to Two70 next time.

Day 3 - Bermuda

Today marked our first time in Bermuda.  Seeing that we have never visited the island before, we opted out of a beach excursion and decided to book a mini bus tour of the entire island.

This tour is available through the cruise line or Viator. We opted to go with the cruise line directly. The cost was $89pp (Lowest at Black Friday) and it was well worth it. At 5 hours in length, the tour brings you literally around the entire island. Stops included Hamilton, St. George’s, and Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse.

We lucked out in that our tour guide was very talkative, informative, and as he put it, “does not sugar coat anything”. I knew it would be a great tour as soon as he made that comment as I am the same way.

Our tour did not feel particularly rushed. He even had time to let us get off at St. John’s beach for a bit (that was unplanned).

We learned a lot about Bermuda today, the history of the island and their way of life in current day.  I would most definitely recommend this to anyone visiting for the first time. It truly gives you a comprehensive, overall feel for the island. If we are fortunate to return, we now know which places we would want to focus in on.

Attaching some pics from our day.

Our lunch stop today was in St. George’s.  There are several little shops and bakeries in that area. We ended up at a local sandwich shop called Temptations. Great little place and friendly service.

Did the same exact tour, think same price also. Also for the same exact reason, first time to Bermuda.

In the hunt for a Jenga set, at the Hamilton stop I stumbled upon a toy store. There I discovered the $32.95 Jenga set. There stayed a $32.95 Jenga set.

Well, I think the limited selection is one of the things that helps keep away the crowds.  It's probably an expectations thing -- I've always thought of it as a "Cafe Promenade"++, instead of a mini-windjammer.  But I do see your point.

I think your omelette might get cold on the way down to Two70.  Maybe better to take your omelette and head back to the outdoor seating area in the rear of the Windjammer.  On Royal that option is limited to Quantum and Radiance class ships, so it's fun to take advantage of that, at least when the weather is warm enough.

Maybe on my next Anthem sailing I'll get around to checking out Solarium Bistro for breakfast one day.  MDR breakfast is fun too.  Last trip we didn't make it there until disembarkation morning. I forgot how much I always enjoy the French Toast there.

Ooooh, maybe that's the reason I never cared much for tiramisu (although it appears I may be the only one on the planet that doesn't).

Nope - you're in good company. I don't like it either (although I will eat it if it's the only option for dessert ?). I do like mascarpone though.

Is that a lemon drop? Haha !! ?

It is! Thanks to you, I am now addicted to these. Funny that while I was in there I ran into @Michael Vitale and his wife and a few others and they asked what I was drinking. I told them a fellow blog reader recommended it to me around Christmas time and I have loved it ever since. I swear they are getting stronger each night on this sailing though. ?

Hmm...I seem to recall you sitting right behind me while taking that shot. Maybe you are a bot too?  Does anyone really know what @CGTLH looks like?  We need a bot name for you though. Lulubot and Original Bot are already taken. ?

CK Night 3 menu features two of my personal favourites again.

Braised Beef Gnocchi (this dish was a bit over cooked tonight but still good)

Grilled Tofu ?

After dinner we went to watch Spectra’s Cabaret. @tiny260 and @CGTLH were also there. The difference between Spectra’s and The Gift is that you don’t expect Spectra’s to have a storyline so the random collection of acts is fine. The Gift you expect a storyline and even after the second time around, I still cannot tell you what it was really about.

Ending off the night tonight in the Schooner Bar with piano. I love piano music. But I will save that for another blog...

Looks like you guys are having a great time.

Please excuse me if this question has been answered in a previous post, I haven't read them all.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you have met in person before this cruise?

In port. ?

But... but... It's St. Maarten!! Seriously, I feel it's the best Caribbean port there is, with so much to see and do! Even after the hurricane / with recovery still going on.

I mean, how can you say no to fresh-baked croissants, and chocolates, and awesome cheese?? ?
