janesta
I just noticed the price on our November cruise dropped about $90. we booked with Mei Travel. Is this small amount worth bothering them? Our total cruise was about $2400. Thanks, Jane
Baked Alaska
If you'd like to spend $90 on something else, definitely! And, MEI is wonderful to work with just this sort of request! Carpe diem!
mcoler18
The $90 is better in your pocket that RC's.
spiralqueen
My attitude is anything over $50 I have no shame in asking for a reprice. Less than that and I will start to feel slightly guilty about it but it wouldn't stop me. I have MEI and I just shoot my agent an email. I have never gotten the impression that I annoy her with these requests like I did with my prior agent (pre-MEI). ChessE4
JLMoran
Definitely ask about it. C'mon, $90 is... like... 7 Kraken Lava Flows!!! KenCP, hayley_bopp, rjac and 5 others 4
Nikkoo
If your ta will help then go for it. Even if you spend an hour on the phone you’ve made $90 for that hours “work”! And if you call them while at work that’s a win win KristiZ, Baked Alaska and JennyB 1
Momof4crazytocruise
I'm not ashamed to say I would ask them to re-price for sure! $90 is $90! Money better spent by me!

I myself am a travel agent and I would gladly do that for anyone.. I think people should reprice even for $25. Money is Money and everyone can always use money why should the cruise line keep it. Thanks, Jane That would be completely up to you. $90 could mean booking a reservation at one of the onboard restaurants to someone and someone else would just like to have the money in their pocket. Me, I'd like to use it for all the many extras that the ships have to offer.

WAAAYTOOO
For $90 ? You betcha. Michelle repriced one for me recently that saved me $17. Now, in fairness...I did not realize that it would only be $17. I would not have bothered her with that...but she did it. $90 is definitely a reasonable reprice. janesta
Thanks for the responses! I went ahead and sent an email. I definitely want the $$$ (which is why I check almost every day), but wasn't sure how it would be received for a minimal amount.
Andrew72681
Think of how many shots @Matt and @mpoole3 could buy with that 90 bucks. CDunninTX, WAAAYTOOO and mom2mybugs 2
Matt
I've asked my TA to re-price for as little as $20. It all adds up. monorailmedic
Baked Alaska
Not addressing the OP, but it's funny how people complain about nickel-and-diming (which I don't agree with having converted from DCL to RCCL), but in the end will accept it. However, they're afraid to ask their travel agent to reprice a cruise. It does all add up! mom2mybugs

CruiseRVA
Up to what point can you reprice a cruise? My husband and I cruised in May (thank you for all the wonderful information from this group) and I never thought about getting a cheaper price after booking. Once we booked with the TA, I thought that was it. Are you all checking prices online after you book with your TA? Up to what point can you do that? Thanks! Our last cruise at 92 days prior (final payment is due at 90 days prior) we repriced and changed our cruise from refundable to nonrefundable. We saved almost $500. To us that is real money especially when sailing from San Juan. WannaCruise

If booking under North American rules, you can reprice your cruise up until final payment which is normally 90 days prior to sailing. I'm glad you asked about checking prices when you have booked through an agent. While my TA is priceless and performs near miracles at times, there is literally NO WAY that she can check prices daily on all of the bookings that she has. The responsibility for making sure you have the lowest possible price is on YOU - even if you are booked through the greatest travel agent on the planet. Now agents will often check prices when a new "sale" comes around but as we all know, cruise lines' sales are really more illusion than substance. So while it is POSSIBLE for the agent to happen up on a price reduction for you, I would NEVER wait and hope that this happens. It's not reasonable or expected. I check my cruise prices EVERY day. Sometimes I will find a small or even sometimes not-so-small price reduction, contact my agent and have her check into it. Because all of my bookings are through the casino, sometimes what is perceived by me to be a price reduction turns out not to be, in reality, due to bizarre casino pricing rules. But if the casino agent tells Michelle that the current price that I have is still the "best" price, she will always call back and double check with a different agent b/c even travel agents get different prices from the customer service agents. Go figure ! JLMoran

Mine uses software that alerts when there's a price reduction but I've caught a couple reductions that my TA didn't so being self diligent is definitely best. HeWhoWaits
$90 will buy you a great excursion or a couple days of DBP. Worst case - it pays for your airport parking and you have a little left over.
