Favorite Drink Onboard

Since I've only sailed in the Caribbean, I'll stick with rum - Ron_Zacapa_Centenario_23_anos.jpg

Yeah, I know it's Guatemalan, but it was available on Oasis, and since my all time favorite was Mount Gay's Tricentennial http://www.rumgallery.com/_Media/image-16.tiff costs as much as a cruise itself ... I'll 'suffer' with Ron Zacapa.

I have a few rum drink recipes at my "blog" at http://blog.billcarney.com ("blog" in quotes as it's more like just to place to store stuff I find interesting).

Ok, so im getting the drink pkg too for freedom in march. When i was on vision last year, i didn't see a lot of drink menus anywhere. Do they have them out floating around? Or should you ask the bartender? I tend to the tried and trues because i just don't think of new ones!

Hey also...prob. won't do many angry orchards this trip since i have the drink pkg, but when i go in august im not getting the pkg. Last time i cruised i bought the soft cooler that you could get fill with beer or cider for a cheaper prce. Do they still offer that?

Usually I'm a Whisky man - Scotch Whisky to be precise. On board, however, I simply cannot resist the Death By Chocolate Collins at the R Bar. I also have a Caipirinha tradition at Boleros. I must have at a least one Caipirinha per cruise. A new tradition is to have a Pina Colada made with Malibu, to be enjoyed in the Solarium hot tub! Preferably, we like to have it on boarding day before anyone else finds out about the Solarium hot tub. If we can be relaxing and imbibing before noon, we've won! Also, Scotch. Did I mention Scotch? ;-)

Caipirinhas are amazing. There's a Cuban restaurant in DC where that's a tradition for us.

Please tell me you don't like Scotch because it's so close to Scott. ;)

I met up with Billy for a scotch lesson (he's a scotch nut), tried some woody ones and some burnt tasting ones. They were good, he would never let me try the same one twice, always needed to try a new one.

Him and his wife called Royal to see what the scotch selection was only to be disappointed.

But once on board they found some of their favorats in the Champagne Bar, which made them very happy.

Coke Zero, with ice. Never found alcohol to be of any interest. Want to be in 100% control of myself. And when I was flying wanted to be able to fly, even on short notice. One of the first things drilled into your head in flight school is 12 hours bottle to throttle. Even after I stop flying never wanted to lose control. But no problem if others want to enjoy alcoholic drinks.

I've got the best drink ever!!!!! It's any drink that I can get for free while playing in the casino.

Free Drinks in the Casinos is like when the airlines offer free airfare. Somehow in the end when the extras and associated charges are added free always seems to have a big cost.... and not look free.

Are you saying free isn't always free? ;)

I also like when they advertise something as complimentary. Is it really complimentary if it's included in our cruise fare?
