Early flight out of fort Lauderdale

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

I am booked on the allure out of fort Lauderdale. I. Currently looking at flights. I see that there is a 10:15 am flight out of fort Lauderdale. If I'm due back at port if fort Lauderdale at 6:15 am is this enough time to get to the airport especially if I am thinking about doing the express disembarkation?

We took a 10:25 flight out of FLL last week and didn’t have any issues. We were off the ship by 7:35 and at the airport by 8:30, and that was coming all the way from Port Miami. That should be plenty of time from Port Everglades.

I booked a 10:45 flight out of FLL for November. We plan to to the Express Departure, and grab a cab over to the airport. I figure as long as we get off the ship by 7:45  we should be fine. It'll be a Friday too, so I am hoping that works to our advantage and the airport isn't as busy.

If your booked in a suite and have the concierge escort you off the ship or you are downstairs with your baggage in hand very early (like before 6 am) you will be ok. The airport is really close but there’s other factors involved like a potential customs issue that may delay you. I think you will be ok with a 10:15 am departure on a weekend w/o traffic.

We had a 9:45 flight out of FLL after Symphony in Miami.  We arrived at FLL by 7:45!

If you have TSA pre-check, you should be fine.  However, there are always the possibilities that something could happen so just have a plan b in mind just in case arrives late.

This is something we saw on our Allure cruise in October.   They didn't start allowing embarkation until nearly noon due to a customs backup in the terminal   While you can never predict that, in general, you should be fine provided you do the self-assist off the ship.   I think they started that around 0600 on our cruise.   We had a 1330 flight so we were in no rush, had a 0830 departure slot and were at the airport by 0915, too early to check luggage.

Yep, tough call. Just a few weeks ago they held all passengers on Allure for a customs inspection. They didn’t leave the ship until a little before noon. Starbucks on 17th street tells you everything u need to know. On a weekend around 7:30am if you don’t see passengers and crew (for the WiFi) en masse then there is a customs snafu. I used to see Mohammed the Harmony suite concierge (and now diamond concierge) there every Sat am and say “hi”.
