That Caprese looks GREAT !

I think that's the first time I have ever read someone say that the view in the Anthem CK was better than the view in a O class ship.  Have to strongly disagree with that one !

I hope you do not have Dennis as your CD.  He is the WORST.

Glad you are enjoying Yen.  She will warm up to you.  She's just very formal at first.  You may even be lucky enough to get a smile from her before the end of the week.

I know how you feel when you get to the Suites waiting area in Port Liberty.  Not exactly what you would call "exclusive"...but you're only there for a few minutes and then everything is exclusive after that.

So envious !  We had such a great 16 days on Anthem.  It was definitely the highlight of our cruise life so far !

(Stubborn Canadian) Land Genie--I love it!!

@TheHobbys Here's hoping every day of your vacation is as good as it seems it has been so far! Great job on the blog and scopes.

BTW, do you live in Nashville proper? Our brother in law and sister in law live in Celina, about 2 hours away. Had the pleasure of visiting Nashville last year and had a great time. Grand Ole Opry was one of my life highlights. So iconic..just sitting in there was amazing.

Happy sailing!

I'm only about 15 minutes from downtown.   Nashville is a very popular place to visit but we only go down every now and then to eat. To many tourists. Lol

@Lovetocruise2002, Yeah, it's Mitch.  He seems cool and energized but haven't been to an event with him yet.

Thanks for taking on the Land Genie. Lol. So glad the scopes are working out.  I have to admit they are kinda fun.   Even my better half laughs at me when I do them saying I'm having to (or too) much fun.

Day 2. At Sea.

Guess what??  I slept like a rock last night!  Woot. I knew I would sleep better.  To bad I can't just live in this suite, it's pretty bad a@@.  The weather now is little cool with mostly cloudy skies and drizzle of rain every now and then but should clear up.    The seas are normal, waves around but no major white caps.

Let's recap.   Oh, just go watch my scopes from yesterday. Hah.

The kids took off to explore so have them a time to be at the CK for lunch.   So far, they are always back on time.   Our son said he filmed the whole ship in 25 minutes lol. Yeah can't wait to see THAT video.   Makes my scopes look like a James Cameron film.

Lunch yesterday was in the CK.  Now I will say coming for the oasis class, this one seems to me a lot more formalized.  The oasis CK was open and bright,  has a dedicated bar and lounge area with snacks for breakfast.   This one here is a little more ... stuffy feeling.   There's no bar area and it's right next to the WJ.  Was getting some noise from guests in there yesterday, but wasn't too bad.   We got seated and were some of the first guests there.  Might have been about 5 other tables.   After we got seated, we waited.... and waited. More guests showed up ... and waited... more guests,  oh,  here's some bread...and waited.  WTH. Those 3 families behind us just got their drinks and apps?  Yeah,  I was getting pretty irritated.   Heck we didn't have any freaking water.    NOT a good start to the CK.  Finally, some water showed up and took our drink order.   We all ordered a coke but my daughter said Pepsi.  Uh, what.  No clue where that came from. .. we are not 'that' type of house. Heh.  Well, out comes our Cokes and a glass with a sticky note that read Pepsi.  Ok.... that was funny.   My mood got better.

The food was good and the service got alot better.  We stayed there till Yen came and got us and escorted us to our room.   Blown away.   Yeah, this room rocks.

We all went roaming around exploring on our own.  Nothing major just getting the layout of the land (I mean ship)  later we came back to the suite to unpack. Oh wait, crap it's time to eat... again.

Back to the CK for dinner, pictures posted earlier.   This experience was 1000x better.   Not only did the manager come talking to us but brought the head chef out to talk food allergies.   Wait, we don't have any.   Oohhh yeah, in our survey I made mention that our daughter was a vegitabletarian and my wife gets itchy with corn and I don't like asparagus. We chatted with the chef for about 10 minutes about this and was impressed at the attentiveness.

Today we're doing sushi making, ifly, chops and the show The Gift.  More on that to come...

Oh snap, it's time for first breakfast... gotta split.

@TheHobbys Hey John! I haven't been able to read through this whole blog yet but I've been enjoying your scopes so much! I have been researching that the Loterie Farm Zip-Lining and was wondering if you booked ahead of time? I went on the website and they said that reservations aren't available and it's first come, first served. Thanks for any information! ?

@TheHobbys I can't remember if you made mention of it before but what type of Star Class room did you have on Oasis?  Was it the Aqua Theater suite?  I too was completely blown away and fell in love with the loft type rooms.  They are so different from the rest.  Enjoy it!

Oh and after your scope last night I did think of something that you could scope or maybe take some pics of.  The Living Room (teen area).  Last time we did not pay much attention to it as the girls weren't old enough yet but I am really hoping my almost 13 year old will give it a shot next month.  Only if you have time...

Thanks. Glad you are able to catch them.   For the zipline, we got them in the cruise planner.  We didn't go thru their website.   Or tickets showed up here this morning so hopefully they are good to go.   I'll post pics since I can't scope from there.

Dinner at CK.  Well,  these are appetizers !

Your pics are making me very hungry!  I'm so glad your family is enjoying your cruise!  Have a terrific time!

We really loved seeing the sun setting over more of the ocean through the floor to ceiling type windows in the CK!  We love the Oasis ships CK too but this was a welcome surprise!  Probably my all time favorite is the view from our enormous view wraparound balcony in our Aquatheater Suite last September on Allure!  That was our personal bucket list room once in a lifetime room and view!  I would really like to cruise in a Crown Loft Suite also, someday...!  Obviously our favorite ships are Oasis and Quantum class ships!  Also I'm partial to Aft balconies that aren't on Oasis class ships!  I love that so many of you share your Star Class experiences!  They are so wonderful to hear!  Thanks so much for sharing!  You all give me something to dream about!  We've been able to move up to Jr. Suites 4 times also after final payment which has been nice!  But any day and anywhere on a cruise is a GREAT day!

Anthem was our 4th cruise since January with one more squeezed in on Harmony over Labor Day before we become first time Grandparents in mid November to a grandson!  I already got him a super cute glow in the dark little onesie in the gift shop at Magen's Bay on our Symphony cruise at the end of April!  We had 2 girls so this is a whole new exciting world!  I'm just a tad bit excited can't you tell!  Ha!

Twangster and LovetoCruise have definitely inspired everyone to post such lovely pics and also fantastic periscopes!

Happy, Happy Cruising Everyone!

Michelle

I had a break earlier and watched your room and sail away scope.  You're a natural at scoping!  Love the cabin too.  The only thing I found strange was the set up of that downstairs washroom.  It would make more sense for the people who have to sleep down there to just put the toilet/sink/shower all in one.

Sabrina, I think you would like the 2BR ATS for 1 reason - the separate bedroom for the girls.  The absolute only downside to the ATS is the walk.  If they put that suite somewhere else on the boat (and of course, I realize that its being on the aft is what MAKES it so special) I would get that room every time.  I love the fact that there are no stairs and of course the big, big balcony....so nice.  I just can't do that walk anymore.  But the girls will have their own room AND their own REAL beds.

I went to Nashville in October whilst doing a road trip through Tennessee and Kentucky. Loved all the live music in the bars.
