NFL Games on TV?

Recommended Posts

I think it's nice that the ship will play NFL games -- that way, you can keep "in touch" with your team.  In our city (forgive me for going a bit off-topic), most restaurants, bars, pubs, taverns, even a sports book, will show multiple games.  But, some will mute the sound of the televisions.  Or, if it's a case of multiple games being shown - only have the sound up on THE BIG SCREEN.  Not a big deal, but yeah.

Let's see...

10 -- 20 -- 19  ... Philadelphia @ Dallas    ... I say PHIL 13  DAL 27

They do play NFL games but it is usually a limited schedule.

Most of my experiecne has been with Thanksgiving when they play the whole day's slate (usually up at the pool) but on occasion i have been on other cruises during football season and it tends to be 1-2 games in a timeslot not all of them.

The games will be muted on the ship as well.  Depending on the ship, if there is no pub you may find the tvs in the casino and/or or Schooner bars.

As a smug Pats fan I don't have a need to throw things, wring my hands or engage in other silly superstitions. We play the Fins on embarkation day. Anticipating another 1st round playoff bye. The GOAT lives on!

Trust me I had my years in the desert prior to the double head monster of Brady/Belichick. I've always had a soft spot for the Bucs, largely because Florida has a much better climate than New England and if I ever came to my senses and moved I'd need a local team to root for. In a twisted sadomasochistic way the Caneers have a similar loosing tradition to the Patriots. Your uniform change just hasn't worked yet.

The Bucs are the forgotten team that won in between the 3 SBs in 4 years for your Pats.  Always could use more fans at our support group meetings on Mondays during the fall.  Don't get me started on the alarm clock style uniform change...went from one of the best looks in the league to the worst.

Everytime I have sailed during the football season they played NFL games on the outdoor pool screen, and in the pubs too

May be true on some ships, but on Grandeur last October no games were on the pool screen.

There were two games available at 1:00 and two at 4:25 in staterooms and on the casino bar screens.

Not unlike at a sports bar on land where only one game has sound and the others are silent.

The interesting part is watching Sunday Night Football in your stateroom. NBC doesn't grant the right to use their commentary so you hear crowd noise, PA announcer, field sounds - all instead of Cris Collinsworth. BEST. SNF. EVER!

When we were on Harmony during football season they showed many of the games in the On Air club, just now the one I was looking to watch.  The Cruise Compass told you which games would be televised and when (in public areas).  Didn't try in the stateroom but did catch some college action on ESPN one night.

They don't have the games in your room? Just in bars or poolside?

From what I’m hearing, there are “sometimes” games available, “sometimes” not. Sounds kinda wishy washy to me.

My wife just told me....”No football on my birthday cruise!”.   We are about to solve the issue of what happens when an unstoppable force hits an immovable object.......?
