Ray
When there in Nov you could only use a registered taxi from the airport. Uber was not allowed to take hires from the airport.

I hired a private driver, they seemed economical. Puerto Rico Green Transportation, Google it.

Not so easy at a lot of airports, including SJU. It would require a hike down the dedicated terminal road to get off airport property, and then you're just on a highway. Add in to that the luggage and Caribbean humidity just to save a few dollars...no thanks.

It is a fixed price. $19 plus $1 per bag. $2 per person extra after 5 people. coneyraven

We paid either $18 or $20 (can't remember !) (taxi) to go from the airport to the Sheraton Old San Juan. Then it was like another $20 -some dollars to from the SOSJ to the port the next day. Then there is the final leg from the port to the airport at the end. It was also $20-something. coneyraven and tiny260

SPS
Taxi is a very good option. The taxi service from the airport has a flat rate depending on which "zone" of the city you travel to (plus a nominal per bag fee).

Irieman
Just want to share my experience from January. Airport Taxi line was organized but about 20 minutes. Not a big deal but if you are impatient then it will raise your blood pressure. Driver was nice and flat rates a plus. For us it was to a hotel. After that, we Uber'd everywhere else and had a fast and easy experience. Timed the embarkation just right. Arrived after the initial que so from Uber to Royal Prom took no more than 10 minutes. That was about at noon. Was simply amazed!
