Formal Nights on Liberty

Recommended Posts

Having come off a four night cruise on Mariner OTS in November, I was surprised by the two formal nights on Liberty OTS out of Galveston.

On Mariner, it was "dress your best" in the MDR. On Liberty, it a full blown formal night. For men, sport coats up to tuxedos were worn by probably 75% of the men. I looked like a bum wearing slacks and a polo shirt.

Oh well, live and learn.

just goes to show ya,   even with same itinerary and same ship, one sailing can differ from the other.    On our 4/28 sailing of Liberty, formal nights ranged from casual (saw shorts in MDR) up to and including full on tuxes and evening gowns with the majority seeming to fall into the business causal attire.

I don't think you wearing slacks and a polo is under-dressed at all.  I love hearing guests embracing formal night, but it's not a black tie affair.  You should not feel bad at all for wearing what you did.
