tiny260
We stayed in Hilton Diagonal Mar, pre and post cruise, short taxi ride from Las Ramblas, nice clean up to date hotel, close to a beach and there is a mall directly across the street with restaurants and shopping, there is the equivalent to a super grocery store in the mall. For tours of Barcelona we used Barcelona Day Tours, they took us on a day tour of all the sites in Barcelona and then we headed out to Montserrat, the whole tour was amazing. Did this after we got back since we had a full day and not flying out until the next day. For your other stops, Florence, Rome and Naples (assumption on my part), we hired Rome Private Excursions, Florence we had a private tour, Rome and Naples we hooked up with a group over on CC and split the cost 8 ways, cannot say enough about the Amalfi coast, truly amazing. hayley_bopp
Get a rickshaw tour of Barcelona - great way to see the sites and can be personalised. Have a stroll around the gothic quarter and stop for tapas on one of the squares. Picasso museum is also located here and worth a look if art is your thing. Forgot about tapas, most definitely, have to try them while in Spain, really no comparison. Kind of like the olives and olive oil in Italy, cant be beat. hayley_bopp
FionaMG
The Ibis Sagrada Familia is a good choice if you're budget conscious. They have a decent, reasonably priced breakfast buffet and it's only a couple of minutes walk from the Sagrada Familia and the metro. The metro in Barcelona is very easy to use. You can get a shareable card that gives you ten journeys. Also, look up Runner Bean Tours. They are great and they offer a variety of walking and tapas tours. A couple of their walking tours are free. You just tip the guide at the end.

Jane No. Picked one up on the street by the World Trade Centre which is where the shuttle from the port dropped us off mom2mybugs
Millenialcruiser
Hotel Miramar is very close to the port. It sits on top of a hill with great views of the city. it is a short ride to Las Ramblas. Stayed there the night before a cruise four years ago. Would stay again.
