mark52479
Hello all!!! This is my first post as I just booked my first ever cruise yesterday. Actually this will be the first cruise my entire family has ever been on and we are all over 40. So I guess we are late in the game. LOL!! I have been searching these boards all day getting as much info as I can from all of you. You all give such great input and this site is amazing!! I booked a 2 bedroom ATS Suite (A1) category Room 8330 on Oasis of the Seas for a 4 night cruise NEXT May 2020. There are 4 of us traveling. I originally looked on RCI main website nothing was available. I went onto Costco site and their availability was much much better so I booked through them. I am searching this site and reading about how these rooms have MINIMUM of 5 people. Since we are only 4 is this a Costco mistake? I am little nervous that I am going to get an email or something saying your room and reservation has been canceled. Thank you all for your help and i am sure I will be speak to you all again!!!! betatke1480 and Baked Alaska
Lovetocruise2002
No, they even let 2 people book it sometimes. We have two of these bookings in the ATS and both reservations it is 4 people only. I think they used to require a minimum but now they let it go. @WAAAYTOOO has stayed in these with just her and her husband. @Mindybrite also sailed in one recently with just 2 people as well. I would not worry too much. Congrats on booking Star Class for your very first cruise. Great way to spoil yourself forever for all future cruises! And welcome to the message boards! TheHobbys
Howdy, and welcome aboard. If you put a deposit down and have a confirmation number, then you should be good to go. I don't think that room would 'require' you have 5 people, so your party of 4 should be just fine. We stayed in the exact same room with 6 people, 8330 end of May 2017 and had a blast. Your genie will spoil you, so your NEXT cruise will have to be the same. mark52479

We started booking only the rooms with CK access after our first visit there (on ships that have it). Now if we could only convince @Matt about that... bellemiche, mark52479 and TheHobbys
mark52479
Thank you both for the quick response. I really appreciate it. Obviously going to take a little to go over everything and see how everything works. But I am excited to learn it all. Thanks again!!! I recommend that you start reading some of the Star Class blogs that we have here in the live blog section. That will give you a good idea of the program and what you might be able to expect. Keep in mind that the program has evolved a bit and some things have been phased out (eg. use of the loop, free one day thermal pass). Initially, when the program first rolled out, I learned so much from reading blogs from those that were sailing star class. Tons of info in these blogs. And many of these people are regulars here on the boards so they can answer any follow up questions you might have. mark52479
Been going over all the threads and have learned so much in the past week. Thanks to all. A quick question i have for those that have traveled in Star Class and had friends come along who were not in Star Class. We have 2 friends that are sailing with us that have a regular ocean balcony room (actually the room directly next to our suite) what's the best way to have the dinner reservations so that we can eat together? They say they will be buying the unlimited dining package. I know our Genie will take car of all our reservations but how do we all get to be seated together? Is that even possible? Should they book all their dinners on their planner and then we just tell our Genie that info so he/she can try to get us the same reservations and table? thanks so much again everyone!!! You could also order from specialty into your suite (complimentary) and then everyone can dine there. In that case, they would not need to pay extra. I know some have done that as well. mark52479

I just dont want to ask them something they cant do or feel uncomfortable doing since the other party is not in Star Class. Thanks again!! WAAAYTOOO
Your Genie should have no problem making reservations for all of you. As noted, they will just receive a bill at the end of the meal. Your Genie should also be willing to reserve seats for all of you at the theaters. It is best to let the Genie know up front that you will have 2 non-Star guests “tagging along” in some limited instances. Be firm but be polite in telling the Genie that you will expect your friends to be included in your plans. That way it will not be a surprise to the Genie and they will be prepared for them. The only thing I would never ask to the Genie to do is anything involving the Suites Lounge. We’ve had friends along on more than one SC cruise and the Genies have been awesome. Our Genie on Allure (Charlie) even got our friend a gift at the end of the cruise it was so nice of him. They’re used to dealing with big groups and extended families. I would never ask them to include more than just a couple of “extras” but with just 1 or 2 they should have no problem. mark52479
