hsweat22
Im sure some here have used the myVegas app to get OBC...if so, whats the process like? It says must be used within 14 days. Is that of redemption or of booking the cruise? We have 2 sailings booked, one we just changed from JS to GS, wonder if that would count for a "new" booking in their eyes...really not sure who to call and ask these questions so figured I would start with the REAL experts here! Thanks!!!!
AlohaLivin
Hi MLife really needs to correct that wording, it is ridiculously confusing. There was a discussion on this very topic recently within another thread - this link is not to the original post, but takes you to what I think will be the pertinent part of the thread. As you will see, you aren’t the only one confused (I surely was...): hsweat22 and SpeedNoodles
nanowerx
You have 14 days to use the obc voucher once it is redeemed through the app. On top of that, your cruise must have been booked no longer than a month prior. So basically your best bet is : 1. Figure out what cruise you want and book it. 2. Immediately after, redeem the OBC through the app and get your voucher number 3. Call Royal with the voucher number and they will add it to your account.
bcarney
I redeemed mine last week. It took 4 days, but it did post yesterday (a Sunday).
hsweat22
Thanks for the replies! Do you think changing cabins and category within the last month will count? Who would be the one to deny the voucher? Royal?
bcarney
@hsweat22, I doubt just changing cabins would restart the 30 day clock. I believe it's a third party firm working for Royal that processes the points, but that's just a guess. If the voucher is denied they send instructions on how to add the points back to your MyVegas account. I cashed in some for a previous cruise and was denied as I had some sort of "Casino Discount Code" (of like $13) on the booking, and the denial message had the instructions on how to do that. hsweat22
@bcarney Thank you!! My fear was I would trade in for the OBC, it get denied, and then I cant get my points back!

I went through my old emails and this was in it: If you would like to cancel your reward, please follow the steps below: 1.) Go to your wallet in the rewards section by clicking on “My Purchases” 2.) Click the “Redemption Pending” tab and select the reward you would like to cancel 3.) Click on the “Cancel Reward” link above “Contact Number" When unredeemed, your Loyalty Points will be refunded, and the reward will show up under 'Refunded & Expired' in your 'My Purchases'. For rewards that offer a self-cancel option, you can cancel up to 5 rewards in 30 days. nanowerx
LoriB0876
Is there a maximum amount of points that you can redeem for on board credit? I have a lot of points and I hoping that I can redeem a bunch to cover beverage packages and excursions.

WAAAYTOOO
Easily. We’ve done significantly more than that at one time. You should have no problem

You should have no problem I may be wrong, but my understanding was you can only apply one credit per booking (per person)? So you can redeem as many points as you want for the highest OBC, but you can't redeem for 4 $50 OBC vouchers just because you have enough points
WAAAYTOOO
No, if I’m understanding your question. Dan often redeems more than one voucher denomination. Example....if he has enough points to redeem $650 worth of onboard credit, he might redeem 1 X 500 and 1X 100 and 2 X 25. I’m just making up those numbers I cannot recall the true denominations. But my point is that you can use multiple redemptions and denominations to redeem your points. He does it all the time.

GregD
I just wish they didn’t have the sailing within a year caveat. All of my newly booked cruises are well beyond a year out WAAAYTOOO

LoriB0876
I wonder if they will let you do the wildcard 10% off and the $100 obc.
Durham Mama Bear
Any ideas when MyVegas will offer free cruises again on RC? I've finally accumulated 1.1M+ points so I am just WAITING to snatch up a free trip! Also, how far in advance do they allow you to book the free cruise? Can I redeem in February for say, a cruise in November? Thanks.
Buzzard05
What I have seen for the free cruises for RCL and the other lines that area available on MyVegas is that they only offer select cruises for specific dates at certain times of the year. Unfortunately you can't really pick the time you go. I'm guessing they have certain cruises that they are having trouble selling out, so they offer them for "free" on MyVegas. Also, the ones I have seen offered are usually sailing within a couple weeks of the offer coming out (i.e. offer shows up on MyVegas in mid-November for a mid-December sailing). If you live close to a port, or have great flexibility in your job these are great. If you really have to plan, it can be tough to take advantage of. From what I have seen the past two years was the December and June seem to be when the "free" cruises are offered (might have been a few in November this year). Also, don't lock yourself into one cruise line. There was another line on MyVegas this fall that was offering absurdly cheap cruises in terms of points (50,000 for a 7 day)... check the MyKonami slots game too. If you sign in with the same account your loyalty coins are available there and there is a cruise line that offers cruises over there too. Good luck! Plan accordingly.
