Change to a different cruise after booking...

The excursions and anything else you booked is fully refundable.  If you booked cruise and have the refundable fare and it is more than 90 days away, you can just cancel.  However, if you did not book a refundable cruise it cost $100 per person to make a change.  This happened to me when i switched from March to July on Allure and I had a non refundable deposit.  Cost me 400 for 4 of us.

I am booked for a cruise but our schedule has changed. Is it possible to move our reservation to another cruise date? If so, is there an additional cost? Can we get a refund for our excursions? Is there a deadline to do this?

Possibly.  Where did you book (North America, UK)?  How did you book, refundable or non refundable?  When is your cruise?  Did you purchase trip insurance?

In North America, you can receive a refund up final payment date (typically 90 days before sail date).  If you booked NRD (non refundable deposit), you lose $100 per person to change sail date.  If you booked refundable deposit, no penalty to move assuming before final payment.

If you move your reservation to another sailing, you will pay the current rate for the new sailing.  I hope it works out for you.

So to clarify (because I'm trying to decide how to play this one), if I book a non-refundable fare on cruise X and I cancel I lose all $500 (the deposit for 2 people).  But if I just change the sailing to cruise Y I really only lose $200?  (the refundable fare is $1000 more, I'm thinking that changing it to non-refundable would be a better gamble).

Yes and no. With the NRD, you will lose $100pp and get the rest back in a FCC. It will not matter if you book a new “cruise y” or not at the same time. However, the FCC expires so I suppose to have to book a “cruise y” at some point before expiration.

That works even better.  Thanks for the clarification!
