ChunkyMonkey
As we are about to head out on our 1st cruise, for our 25th Anniversary on the Oasis, I called RC to see if I could set up a romantic balcony dinner on our actual anniversary, which they will do since it is a milestone anniversary. While I was on the phone, I asked what the cap was per drink for the Deluxe drink package, I was told $12. Since it is Oasis class, I thought it was $13 since I've read drinks are a little higher. Anyone who has sailed recently know for sure? Does the casino take cash for slots and table games? or do I have to add cash to my sea pass card? And a BIG THANK YOU for all the advice and allowing me to just blog stalking the last several months. I've been wanting to cruise forever, but my other half doesn't like being on someone else's schedule, so no tours for us, just where our feet take us in port. (Nassau, St Thomas and St Marteen) I'm hoping he likes it as much as I know I will so we can go one more now that we are empty nesters. APM
Most recent Oasis cruise in Dec 18 the ceiling was $12. Any drink over $12 is considered super premium and you pay the difference. You are more than welcome to bring cash on board for slots and table games, or charge a cash withdrawal to your seapass card at a 5% fee. JLMoran
Absolutely bring cash for all casino gaming. As @APM noted, you're assessed a 5% "convenience charge" if you have them charge the amount you're gambling to your SeaPass. If you don't like the idea of carrying around a lot of cash before boarding, you could use the ship's on-board ATMs to withdraw cash once you're on board. The withdrawal fee is kind of hefty, IIRC (like $4 or $5, which means you have to withdraw a lot if you don't want to have more than 2% of the total be the fee), so I'd only advise that if your bank offers automatic refunds of ATM fees as a perk on your account. Ken23
Another possible option if you gamble a lot (and have good credit) is to get a line of credit with the casino. I did this last summer before my first RC cruise, allowing me to withdraw money, charging it to my SeaPass card, without the 5% charge. Then paying it off on my credit card which I get very good points with (triple points for "travel"). Here is the RC link. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/casino-credit I believe, as with most lines of credit, this will put a "hard inquiry" on your credit report. janesta
Congratulations on 25! What are the details for the balcony dinner? Is there additional cost and what menu will you order from? We are also celebrating 25 year anniversary in November on Allure and looking for ideas for our special day.
