WannaCruise
This may be a silly question as it depends on when you booked and what. But for those that currently have bookings, do you find you still get price drops? We booked Harmony for 2021 back in December when prices were released and so initially got about 6 price drops. But now, it seems like prices just rise and rise. I know...the good thing about booking early and we got a great price for Harmony (but in a lower category stateroom - but always watching balcony rooms). Similarly for our Aug 2020 cruise on Mariner. And I don't even bother checking for the next two cruises (Aug 2019 and Mar 2020) as prices are way above what we paid (and that's comparing our booked refundable to non-refundable). I often cringe at what a standard balcony costs today vs a couple years ago as prices are really on the rise. Thinking with all these amplification changes they are doing, prices are just rising and rising? I am one who loves the changes, esp travelling with kids, but its really driving the cost. In fact, my Mariner cruise has rose to three times higher then what I paid but has since dropped to only 2.5 times more. I have repriced cruises in the past but agree with you that prices seem to only be going up recently (at least for the sailings I have booked). Baked Alaska
I have three booked. All Suites. Radiance this summer, Oasis March 2020, Harmony 2021. In the last 2 months, all have gone up. Even after applying Royal's voodoo magic and attempted application of awesome sauce, according to my spreadsheets, the prices are still going up. WannaCruise
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it's common across many cruises including ones not getting amped (Radiance). Guess booking early really pays off (no pun intended). We still have 1.5 years until our Mariner cruise and 2 years until Harmony so will still check every day (including better category for Harmony). But worries me what cruises will cost going forward. It IS and IS the only thing available on the CP, but it IS there at $399.
JohnK6404
In my relatively limited experience (4 RC cruises including upcoming), we definitely get the best pricing and cabin selection when booking a year or more out. I have also found that over the first few months following the initial booking we’ve been able to make several minor rate adjustments, but once you close in on a year prior to sail date the underlying cabin rate seems to gradually increase. As Matt suggested in the past, I guess it’s simple supply and demand. You learn to not necessarily get excited over the percent discount on any particular sale since a higher underlying rate can wipe out any additional savings. Definitely keep checking... it can’t hurt! WannaCruise and Baked Alaska

Too funny as it seemed way too far out to find anything (outside of spa stuff as that's always available right away).

When others were saying how expensive CCC was I as wondering how expensive it could be. Now wondering if we should switch trips and use NextCruise deposit elsewhere. We are still within the 30-day window....

We booked Oasis for November 2020 and there was a single price drop in the last month of tracking. It was less than 24 hours after the initial booking. I keep a spreadsheet and check it almost daily, hoping something worth it will show up in a star class cabin.

I wish I was clever enough to write a script that would check it and also my December cruise on Norwegian Encore. That one has never gone down, booked the week the sailings went up and it’s now increased almost 25 percent from what I booked at. mworkman
I've only had 1 cruise drop in price since original booking and I usually book over 1 1/2 years out or more. I've noticed on this last release of cruises 10 days or longer to the Caribbean have been priced a lot higher than in the past. I'm sure it has a lot to do with Vision having fewer cabins than Radiance class ships.

Me too! It makes it easier to compare the overall value especially when they start throwing in OBC to muddy the waters! For me it’s also about measuring the worthwhile-ness of calling casino royal to check my MGM Mlife price. Without the baseline of what it was I’d just be taking random shots in the dark when calling them. And with the lack of customer service skills in their weekend call center, I better have everything buttoned up before calling.
