HOS Eastern Caribbean Shore Excursions

Recommended Posts

My husband and I will be on the HOS in June.  The itinerary includes a stop at St. Thomas/Charlotte Amalie and St. Maarten.  Are there beaches at each of these ports that are close by?  I really do not want to spend a lot of money on shore excursions for each port so was curious as to what are our options if we do not choose a shore excursion.  TIA!

We are also on HOS in late June. I found this place. Looks pretty cool. Restaurant/Bar with chair and umbrella rentals. I believe the green umbrellas pics are most recent after thr rebuild from the hurricane.

I went to Bikini Beach a couple of weeks ago, it was great!  The restaurant/bar is all brand new (old one was damaged from the hurricane) and really nice!  All the facilities are super clean.  We rented 2 chairs w/ umbrella for $30.  We used Bernard's Tours to get there, once we arrived the driver asked what time we wanted to be picked up. He was there right on time and was super friendly.  Of course you can just grab a cab to bring you there as well.  We had a great day at a very reasonable price as I too was trying to avoid costly excursions for the 4 of us.  We did a similar thing in St. Thomas by grabbing a cab (more like a bus) and going to Megan's Bay for the day.  There we were also asked what time we wanted to be picked up and he was right there on time as well.

Thank you both very much!!

FYI after reading more the public beach in that area is clothing optional. Not so much when cruise ships are there but still a possibility if you are bringing the kids.

In St. Marteen, you can walk to take a water taxi ($7 r/t) to Great Bay Beach.  You will see the beach from the cruise ship pier.  Rent a beach chairs for $20 for 2.  Lots of places to eat lunch and if you are a Star Wars fan walk to the Yoda Guy's shop.  That can be a very inexpensive and easy day.

This place looks pretty good for my April sailing on Adventure.  We didn't have anything planned for there yet.  It will prob be between there or possibly https://coconut-reef.com/tour/snorkeling-discovery/for me.
