Temps in Bahamas in December

You can't count on 80's and sun in the Bahamas. On more than one occasion we were unable to stop at CoCoCay due to weather issues. That may be different now with the dock opening. I would say a 70/30 odds of good enough weather to sun/swim. That's better odds than what you will get at the casino by the way. Bring a rain proof jacket with you on your trip as insurance. Hoping you have a great trip.?️

We went last January.  We had booked the excursion to Atlantis.  It was rainy and dark and maybe 70 degrees.  For me in VA, that was still pretty warm. Warm enough to suck it up and go to the water park.  It wasn't ideal, but the slides were empty and we had a good time.  The lifeguards were literally bundled up in North Face jackets.  I guess 70 for them is freezing.  I believe it was unseasonably cold that day, so it should be warmer for you.

It can really vary from day to day.  We spent Christmas on The Enchanment if the Seas in 2017.  We spent the  Christmas Eve day at Blue lagoon, and we were in the water most of the afternoon (highly reccommend Blue Lagoon) spent Christmas Day at CoCo Cay, and nearly froze...windy and rainy.  Ended up back on the ship before lunch.

Weather that time of year is often front related. Not uncommon to be 80 one day and 60 the next in Florida. Usually though That far east into the Bahamas its milder... Cold front would have north side of facility exposed but interior and south side in the lee would be fine.

I thought the water in February was warm enough to go into, and I'm a freeze baby.

just say no to cold water.  i'm a freeze baby too.

and in regards to feeling refreshed...i've never felt refreshed in water that tastes like sweat.  LOL

I prefer a nice chlorine smell/taste. LOL

I'm with you. I do prefer a pool to the ocean.

On our New England/Canada tour in Oct 2017, most of the time my wife and I were the only ones in the outdoor pool. Go figure?

i don't like cold water either.  A number of years go we went to Puerto Rico to get on a ship and spent a few extra days on either end of the cruise.  It was in December and I could not stay in the water....it was just too cold.  That's one reason (along with the sun) that I normally avoid the beach.  To quote my dearly departed father, "The beach would be great if it wasn't for the sun, the sand and the water".   I guess I get it honest, as they say in the south.
