souledgar
Hey guys, I need some advice: I'm booked on Spectrum of the Seas in May (yay!), but I need to get RCI to change the name on my reservation because I've updated my name legally. I called my local travel agent (we booked with them during a travel convention), and was informed that to make a name change I would have to pay a bunch of money as a "penalty fee". Is this normal? twangster
What region did you book under? If you are a FB user trying reaching out to Royal VIA FB messenger and see what they say. Ultimately if booked through a TA it has to be processed by that TA.

Just trying to find out if RCI normally charges people for changing the names on their their bookings, so I know if I'm dealing with Royal or just the TA's fees. twangster
Policies differ by region as do cruise contracts. In the US often the primary person has to remain but additional passengers can change names without fees. That may mean assigning another person as the "lead" guest then changing a name as a work around. I can't speak for Singapore. US policies won't apply there. souledgar

Hoski
We booked a cruise on the phone and when the documents came one of the names was spelled wrong. We simply called and they changed it with no fee.
