Deluxe Drinks Package

Recommended Posts

No documented limit.  If you look overly intoxicated you will be cut off.  If it appears you are sharing drinks you will be cut off.  They are trusting in their guests as much as we put our trust in them so if you are respectable they will let you have plenty of fun and be up all night using the restroom.. ?

Just that imposed by your liver! In all seriousness, the main limit is not number of drinks, but cost it will cover up to. On Oasis/Quantum class ships it's $13 and all other ships it will cover up to $12. If you want to get a drink that costs above that (you will mainly run into this with wines), you can and you will just have to pay the price difference (plus 18%) on the drink. So a $14 glass of wine on Anthem would cost you $1.18. The only other limit I can think of is that they will generally only allow you to get one drink at a time to prevent you from buying drinks for other people using your package.

I understand the 'one drink at a time' idea, but what if I wanted a Beer and a shot of liquor? Would they do that? I assume its probably up to the discretion of the bartender.

Don't drink much in terms of mixed drinks, but I do love beer and like to sometimes enjoy them with a shot.

Worst case you order the beer, then you order the shot.  Generally they are good about a shot with a drink, but like you said, depends on the bartender.

The 18% that I keep seeing...does that just show up on the bill at the end of the trip?

Added to every beverage purchase if you don't have a package. With the package 18% is added to the cost of the package. Other cases would be at specialty restaurant and dining packages (if not purchased in advance). Also if a beverage goes over covered amount for the package you'll be charged 18% on the difference.

Should have also added the 18% is an automatic gratuity/service charge.

If you buy the deluxe drink package the 18% gratuity will be added on at the end of the check out process.

Example, I just bought the drink package for a 9 night cruise at $49 per day = $441, total cost at check out was $521, $441 + 18%.

I've never been told 'no.'  But I'm nice and always add additional tip.  Your bartender sees very little of that 18% auto-grat, the back of the house takes a big cut so consider tossing them an extra buck or two.
