My Fast Track Plan From Platinum to Diamond C&A!

I thought I was sitting at 30 points Crown & Anchor points but when I looked discovered I was actually at 36. Our next Cruise in September will be our first as Platinum. Finally out of the basement! After this September 2019 9 night Greek Island cruise on Jewel we will be at 45 points. I have booked a 15 night Caribbean / Transatlantic crossing junior suite on Independence of the Seas for May 2020 which with the doube points will be 30 added to my 45 for a total of 75. That means by the end of May 2020 I will be only 5 points away from Diamond status! After a four year break from cruising starting last November with a cruise on HAL I am back in the game!

Ha. Was doing the same math last week. Hadn’t been on a Royal Caribbean cruise before December and trying to figure out how long it would take to get to diamond. Harmony(14) and navigator(6) in May will get me to 20. Oasis for late 2020 will get me to 34. So after that would be platinum and  “only” 56 points from Diamond, which would be 4 7 day cruises in a suite. So easily by 2022 could be diamond. Made Lifetime platinum with Marriott in 6 years so this should be a simple one.

Good plan ,

I will suggest , just to be on the safe side to book also a 5+ days cruise , if Royal will change the number of points require for Diamond you can always call them , show you already booked enough for 80 points and ask them to owner it once you will be at 80 .

I did this waaay back, years ago when they re-structured the C&A program to count nights vs cruises.  I had already booked all of the cruises necessary to take me to Diamond and I called them....sure enough, they honored my request EVEN when I had to cancel one of the cruises and push the date back a bit.

Actually my recommendations were based on your experienced which you shared long time ago  ?

It's fun reading everybody's status and strategy for moving up. Also I appreciate the good advice on trying to go ahead and book the one additional cruise tht will be me to the 80 in case they change the program and I need to ask them to grandfather me in. My only issue is that we took our first HAL cruise after Thanksgiving last year and HAL thinks I am a big enough gambler that they gave me a free cruise next month on their new ship Nieuw Amsterdam. I would like to book an Alaska cruise for 2021 but don't want to jump the gun just in case HAL decides to keep on giving me free cruises. Who knows though if this September I impress RCCL enough in the Casino maybe I will get some good casino offers from them!

We’ll be Diamond after our southern Caribbean cruise end of this month. We were old timers that got grandfathered in when they redid C&A back in the 90’s. Technically we have 52 nights but 4 of our cruises were prior to 1997 when you got credit for cruises versus nights. So 7, 7 night cruises and one 3 night got us to Diamond. Easy peasy! Now I need to book our first Diamond cruise but I have a feeling there’s an engagement on the horizon and we may need that money to pay for a wedding! Dying to get on Symphony! Our daughter ( the one likely getting engaged) is doing Symphony in the fall. Have a feeling that’s where the question will be popped. I may have to sneak on that cruise!
