The Key Benefits explained

As far as I remember they just took my word for it in the terminal.

I'd imagine it is in their system when they go to check you in at the terminal? Not certain, would just assume they would have it in the computer if you pre-purchased or not.

Been a long time since I've been on a cruise, but I've seen a key symbol on seapass cards. Not sure at what point you get those though.

On Mariner the cards were on our stateroom doors.  And I don't remember anyone scanning anything when they called to board us - nothing was scanned until we were on the ship (although maybe that's where they'd send people back, although that seems odd after walking through the gangway.  But then again, I could totally be misremembering since I was very excited to get onto the ship and my memory is basically sand.

I am not 100% sure, but I think I remember reading about getting the sticker after being on the boat. Thanks for your input!

Yea. Everything I read or watch indicated getting the key sticker and/or card after being on board. Thanks for your help

I brought a copy of the record of my purchase of the key from the Cruise Planner just in case anyone had any questions (I believe it may have also been indicated on my phone app somewhere). I don't recall ever needing it for Key benefits.  Somehow maybe someone needed to see it for lunch at Chops. Sorry my memory is so bad. It's a wonder I can function in society sometimes.

So that's a cool thing I didn't realize--they basically whisk you past the regular security line while boarding?  How do they scan your carry-ons?

Not completely sure. With carnival's FTTF, you sort of bypass the regular security line, basically jumping in front if everyine else to be scanned.

No, not the security line. Just from the waiting area after security. I'm not sure how pre-security works since I was one of the first 5 people in the terminal.

This is why its best not to assume lol To be fair, it was a guess.  Seem counterproductive to sell it then not know who bought it until after they use part of the benefit.  But what do I know haha :4_joy: I'm just excited to have it come April, cuz I'll be there bright and early front of the line!

??? agreed!! And in response to your previous post, I agree, it seems silly to not know who has the key, but maybe theres something I'm not yet aware of

Port Everglades terminal 29. They had a different (shortened) security area for us, as well as check in area. Signs for the key are visible and the staff is very helpful. Seating/waiting area for key members is available as well. Hope this helps!

After key breakfast this am, we were escorted off of the ship (bypassing all lines) and into the terminal where we picked up bags. We were then ushered into a separate customs line (with no one in it) and out of the terminal in what seemed like seconds. I wont spoil other perks of the key for you ?, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the heads up on exiting perks.  That was a huge reason why I decided to go with it as well, since my flight ended up being rescheduled about 2 hours earlier than I originally purchased.  Getting off the boat in good time to get to the airport will ease my worry that day.  I can't wait to see what she has in store!

The video was excellent and funny thank you. Seriously considering it now. Drawback is that I was intending to have each person in my party have internet & was going to make the young adults “ share” one. Another drawback is that we are traveling with a group, so those that do not have The Key, we ditch in line , do not “ sit with” at productions, but getting off ship ahead of everyone  is huge. * edit. Ok I compared prices, today it’s $680 more ( really good deals on Black Friday that included drink & VOOM).  I am “ getting”  2 VOOM I don’t want, a “free” lunch at Chops or Jamie’s as well as other Key perks. So not enough for our group. If I was still in a wheelchair I would get this though.

This is why I'm not getting it for my Alaska trip. While I really will miss it, and it would be great for me and my husband, the other couple we are meeting on the ship won't have it, so we wouldn't want to use most of the features without them. *sigh*
