Thetechie
Just saw this picture from Navigator, looks like the new express isn’t a cover charge anymore? That’s a bummer, but might make it easier to get a milkshake with the Beverage package?
CGTLH
What worries me is the line "Additional charge applies to all shakes." Summoning @twangster for further investigation.
ama537621
The prices for the burgers and fries do not look unreasonable. 11 for a shake seems excessive bhageerah

SpeedNoodles
No malts??? I actually think their burgers aren't very good, and the fries were some of the most pathetic that I've ever had, but I do love their malts. Shakes...not so much. melski94
I can see my 15yo son getting an afternoon snack here every day on our Navigator cruise. He LOVES burgers. I don't see any double burgers though so he'll have to make do with 2 singles. I don't think the prices are that bad.

twangster
JR Express on Navigator reminds me of JR on Anthem. Maybe that's where they got the idea. Adult Shakes - Not sure I remember those from Anthem. Have to explore those options. The fries at JR are basically WJ fries. I wonder if I get a plate of fries from WJ then head to JRE for a burger? RCL loves this because you technically pay for food in your cruise fare and slowly but surely you are seeing them able charge again for "better" food. Matt
I greatly prefer this model. Now I can get my kids a burger without having to commit to sitting down for a meal there. With the convenience of the pool deck, it is perfect for a quick meal on a sea day. Thetechie and SouthernYankee
monctonguy
I am torn....while I like the idea of being able to have a burger and pay $5....but the flip side of that is that a meal is a lot more.....I used to order an app and then the burger/fry/pop......it looks like about double the cost now for that.. You have just described the optimal business model. I cant get enough people to pay 7.00 for a sit down unlimited meal but i can get 4X the amount of people to pay 3 - 5 dollars for less food by the pool. 4ensic and JennyB

Oh, good point - it was a sit down - but I'll be on Nav in December and I'll happily (well maybe not "happily") pay for one since they're pretty darned good. As long as they have malts and not just shakes. Yeah, I'm picky. Thetechie

Yeah..makes me more likely to skip it and head to the buffet or park café for a " free sandwich".......I was willing to pay and make a meal out of it at JR's..but I wont pay double for the same thing.. SouthernYankee
Probably most importantly as Matt pointed out is that Johnny Rocket's is convenient on the pool deck. On Voyager and Freedom class ships they were not located in the most frequented area. This exposure and accessibility will greatly increase JR sales. Jolly Ogre
I would go to Jonny's if it was included in my cruise fare. I did go there for breakfast one day as it was included. Know when I was on Anthem it seemed busy. Only major complaint was it took well over 15 minutes for them to complete an order. Not 100% sure but I think only one other non Quantum class ship has a poolside venue, think it is Fish and Chips style place.

Zambia-Zaire
I was once told JR was placed in certain designated locale, not really convenient or popular location, to increase the foot traffic, in low activity areas of the ship & spread the traffic around some, to help alleviate crowd in heavily dense areas of the ship.
