All Access Ships Tour

Not trying to sound cheap, but is the All Access Ships Tour worth $97.00 per person? I'm asking anyone who has actually been on the tour. Did you get your money's worth, feel disappointed, etc. etc.?

I would love to see the workings of the ship....I worked one of Uncle Sam's cruisers back in the day....but if it's a bust would rather be spending the $194 winning the casino's money at blackjack. :27_sunglasses:

All replies appreciated!

Our son did the All Access Tour a week ago on Ovation and totally enjoyed it.  My husband did the tour on Radiance about 4 years ago and he enjoyed it too; especially the bridge and engine room parts.  He was on a U.S. destroyer years and years ago and the changes in those two areas because of technology were amazing. I bet you would like the tour.

My son in law and I did the All Access tour on the Allure last year and were totally fascinated by it. Plus, my son in law is an engineer and he was blown away. It's a long tour, close to 3 hours, have to wear pants and shoes (no sandals or flip flops). The engine control room was amazing. Tons of displays, gauges, switches and only two staff members watching everything. :27_sunglasses:

OK, y'all have sold me. I'm sure the modern technology in the engineering spaces is awesome. I'd like to see the bridge....and galley. I'm not thrilled about the laundry but will look. Sounds like money well spent! Thanks for your comments!

If you have more than one cruise booked check it on all the cruises.  We are paying $49 on the Empress and it would be $69 on the Grandeur and $109 on the Allure.  They all have the same description

Hmmm....curious why? Size of ship? Age of ship? Just because?

Yes.  Length of cruise, age of ship, size but most importantly what the market will bear.

Since Oasis class are newer and bigger and better, the perception is the tour is bigger and better.

The truth is once you get below decks and out of the public areas many ships appear the same (or similar).

I agree with all.  Very informative tour.  We were most impressed with the galley and how they produce all the meals that we eat.  All  those rolls!   Every day!  Amazing organization.

In the engine control room, the crew member showed us a button.  He was most proud that the ship did not move until the captain called him and he pressed that button. ?

On the website it says they are all 2 hours but I've heard some are longer.  I think everything varies by ship and yes what the demographics on the ship will support.

Hubby did the Bottomless Brunch on the Allure which included a galley tour and loved it.  So I booked it with my one daughter and brother on the Navigator.  It was horrible and I mean horrible.  The galley was empty and we saw no food prep.  Then we couldn't get a beverage at the lunch.  The menu was very limited and the appetizers they had on the table wasn't enough for half the people seated there.  Then we waited half an hour to order our food and an hour for it to arrive.  People were just getting up and leaving.  We did complain on our comment cards but never heard back.
