jefro
cruise planned in may, driving to the port what time is best to avoid a traffic jam at the port? thanks for any input
KathyC
Best time to arrive at the port is early, say before 11am. We usually arrive 10-10:30am. This gives plenty of time for the passengers getting off to vacate the area and you aren't stuck waiting for a parking spot. Depending on the day of the week, you may hit rush hour traffic getting to the port though. So keep that in mind. Matt
If you are driving on a weekday, avoid rush hour (don't hit the road until 10am). Alternatively, take the PATH train to Newark and reduce the distance required via roads. On weekends, as @KathyC recommended, getting in before 11am is a great idea. Dragonfly1274
@jefro - where are you coming from? We'll be leaving in May also on a Friday and plan to leave our house (CT) around 8:30 / 9am to arrive early....

Hutchinson > Cross County Pkwy > GW Bridge > 95 > Newark and then whatever road takes you to the port.
