Lovetocruise2002
I love Star Class! This is so minor but it is one of the highlights of my day so far... Relaxing in our suite this afternoon and I was craving coconut ranger cookies. We call Araceli to ask if they had any and she says they might be out already but she would check. A while later, the doorbell rings and cookies are delivered and they are warm and fresh! I think they may have just made them! This is the point of no return... Lovetocruise2002
This afternoon the backstage tour took place at the Aqua Theatre instead of the main theatre. I was really happy with this as it is not the usual venue. They made this change because they had a time conflict with the juggler in the main theatre. While we were not able to go backstage, it was still very interesting and informative to see the workings of this venue and the complexities involved in putting on a show here. The ice cream bar is not a problem but the backstage Aqua Theatre show might be. We got lucky. They had to move it because the main theatre was used for another purpose. The C&A ambassador who led the tour mentioned that this is not normally done and may not be done again. Also, we caught them on a day when they were doing their monthly maintenance on the pool and it was empty. When is your Star class sailing and which ship? Lovetocruise2002
Night 5: Dinner 150 Central Park Another great meal tonight at 150CP in terms of quality and service. However, if I wasn’t already convinced that CK rivals any specialty restaurant, tonight solidified it. We had 2 appetizers tonight (Short rib & Pork Belly) that they served upstairs at CK. It was exactly the same! Quality and taste, exactly. Menu: The great thing about 150 is that some things are prepared tableside. The evening was off to a great start as I was reunited with a drink that I have missed greatly. The Urban Garden Martini (aka Cucumber martini) 150 CP bread (Not on the menu but probably the best bread on board!) Hubby had a Ceasar Salad, also prepared table side. Lovetocruise2002
After dinner we ended back at Studio B to watch Charles Peachock, a juggler who has been on America’s Got Talent. No SC reserved seating as we never told Araceli that we were going. When we returned to our room, we found this: More evidence that she reads the pre-cruise survey. There was a question on there about what foods you like. I mentioned that I loved the chocolate bar and tapioca pudding from CK and here it was, in our room. Because we stayed out later, the mango ice cream in the pudding melted. Still delicious though. Tomorrow is Cozumel. We are staying on board. Lovetocruise2002
Day 6: Cozumel Good Morning! Docked in Cozumel about an hour ago. No plans to get off the ship today. Sitting alone here again in CK as I write this. I love this part of the ship. Hubby and the girls are still asleep. Our plans are just to hang out by the pool today. Tonight is busy. They have had to shuffle and cancel many shows this sailing. Because of this, Hideaway Heist is not even being shown this sailing and tonight we have to watch the Fine Line and Columbus. On the agenda is also the 90s party and the famous Quest. Feeling a bit sad as I handed in our luggage valet forms. That means this cruise is almost coming to an end... Lovetocruise2002
Since I have some time this morning, it might be a good opportunity to make some stray observations at this point. You are treated differently when they see the card or when they realize that you are SC. - The first indication of this was Day 1 at CK. I mentioned to the host that we like the tables by the window. When we arrived that evening for dinner, the place was packed but there was a table for 4 empty for us in the exact same spot that I mentioned. - By Day 3 in Labadee, I had yet to meet or chat with Mohamed and Elaine, the concierges in the suite lounge. Upon coming across them at Barefoot Beach, they both greeted me by name. I was so impressed. Mohamed even made mention that I had sailed HM prior to this and that was the first ever conversation that I had with him. He was on vacation when I was here last. Both of these concierges are great. Since Labadee, we have had many wonderful conversations. - Captain Gus personally called us to check in on how things were going. - So far, every dinner, at every restaurant, except for Hibachi, we have received a window seat. Coincidence? Not sure? - As we strolled through Central Park a few nights ago, we ran into an officer who we did not recognize. He greeted us by name. - Last night at 150, we had a great waiter from the start. 2/3 of the way through the meal, Araceli showed up to check on us and our waiter was there as well. After she left, it is hard to describe, but service went up another notch and again, he started addressing us by name when he did not before. Just a few of the things that have stood out to me so far and I wanted to note them before I forget. Another thing to note is how amazing this CK staff is. We knew that already from the last time we sailed HM but we were not sure what to expect this time as we knew that many of them were headed to start up SY. Two waiters here, Elmer and Rico, we recognized from the last time and they knew us right away when they saw us! Great memory and stand up service from both, even when we are not at their tables. A few days ago, the girls woke up late and they could not get a table in CK. The host had a waiting list about 10 people long. Elmer saw us waiting, came up to us and took their orders and personally brought it to our room! No words to describe that type of service! Simply WOW! bellemiche
I agree with you @Lovetocruise2002. Mohammed has been wonderful to us as well and we're in Sky Class. He made dinner arrangements and reserved us a cabana prior to sailing (via emails). He called our room the first day to confirm the cabana with us and when we finally met him in the Suite Lounge, he was very friendly and asked if there was anything else we needed. While at Labadee, he also stopped by our cabana to check in on us. We too are sad that this trip is coming to an end! Do you think we could delay the ship @Lovetocruise2002 so we can't go back to work? See if your genie can talk to the captain!
