Minicruiser
2 hours ago, WAAAYTOOO said: Depending on how many people we are talking about AND your Genie, it can work out just fine. On 2 of our 6 Star Class cruises, we have cruised with "others". One of the things that is included in your introductory email from the Genie is a line that tells you that your SC amenities are available ONLY to those persons traveling in SC. I have no doubt that they mean it....BUT both times that I have been on a SC cruise with friends, the Genie did their very BEST to include them whenever they could. For instance...when we went to dinner, the Genies both always made the reservations for the entire group. Of course, those not in SC had to pay for their meals, but the Genies never balked at making reservations for everyone. Also, when it came time to reserve seats for the entertainment events, they were also always included. Now granted, on the first "friends" cruise, there were only 2 of the 6 of us that were not SC so it was fairly easy to include these 2 others...and on the second such cruise, there was only 1 person who was not SC. Does your Genie have a right to say "no". Absolutely. Will they ? Hard to say. As long as you are not asking to have them join you in the Suites Lounge (we NEVER did that) or partake in any freebie food or drinks, I doubt they will say no. If it is a very large group, then the Genie would probably have to decline to include them all. I have found that it was helpful to forewarn the Genies that you have some additional people who may be joining you for some events. It's easier that way than to spring it on them at the last minute. This is really helpful, thank you! One family is Sky class and we don’t plan to ever ask for the third family to join us in CK or the lounge. They do have the key though, so that helps a bit. The only thing we were hoping for is some help moving some times for existing reservations that we’ve booked for the 6 adults that aren’t ideal times. Neither group is big. 4 in each family. We are the biggest group with 8 of us in our suite. DH, me and all the kids. It’ll be a bit chaotic for our genie regardless. I’m assuming if we order food in our cabin it’s ok to have the non suite family there, though? Since we have the deck 8 ATS, we plan to hang out on our balcony one night. They can set up the ATS table on the balcony for you. With 8 in the room, you can get 8 entrees, apps, desserts, etc. at once so that would be plenty to share with your guests. All of the food will get delivered at once, just a heads up..they're going to need all the flat surfaces they can if you do order 8 of each Lovetocruise2002

Lovetocruise2002
Back to yesterday afternoon before VOOM went wonky.... Araceli booked us a private escape room session with 2 other Star class families that we met a year ago. The story of our meeting is too long to explain but it would make a great story for a group cruise. Anyway, we booked it private because we all have kids under 12 and we wanted them to come. Normally the minimum age limit is 14 to participate. You begin by watching a video outside of Adventure Ocean: After the video, you proceed into the actual room: No photography allowed inside sorry. You get 60 minutes to look for and solve a series of puzzles. It was not the easiest. Turns out some of the kids were very helpful. This was our result in the end... Even Star Class can’t get you out in time And yes, we asked if we could call our Genies and they said no Back into the cabin to get ready for dinner and an Insider messaged me to ask me to do a speed test. It was literally right after this when VOOM became doomed Minicruiser, twangster, JLMoran and 2 others

Lovetocruise2002
@WAAAYTOOO always talks about the benefits of star class that cannot be quantified. Here is another example... Last night, we were supposed to watch The Fine Line at 8:30pm. Midway through dinner, Araceli came to inform us that it was cancelled due to 2 cast memebers being sick and they needed them for the show. Then she told us not to worry, she already reworked everything for us so that we could watch it Night 4 instead and she moved our comedy reservation (originally on Night 4) to tonight. Now, if not for SC, you would at this point be left scrambling to re-work your schedule and hope that something else isn’t filled up so that you can move things around. Even Hubby noticed how seamless the switch was this time. That left the kids high and dry for entertainment so they told her that they would watch a movie in the room (complimentary movies for SC). Cue Genie magic, this was the movie snack delivery: When we got the to the comedy show it was packed (probably because The Fine Line was cancelled). The standby line extended almost to the theatre. We asked earlier that she save us a seat on the couch in the middle of the Attic. Sure enough, in the middle of an already packed room, was a double couch with two SC drapes. This was our view: Standing room only last night. We ended off the night back in our suite to kids on a sugar high. Jamie's on all ships that I've sailed that have Jamie's (Anthem, Harmony, Symphony, Navigator) doesn't have it's own bar like a bar where you can sit within Jamie's. They use a nearby bar or a service bar in the back for the drinks they serve. So you can't go to Jamie's and sit at the bar like you can in many land restaurants. Hooked and Wonderland (Oasis class) are the only restaurants that come to mind as having a bar you can visit and enjoy a drink without eating there. Plus Sabor on Oasis class.
