Coastal Kitchen Menus on Harmony

...as requested by @spiralqueen

Just a note that they will switch the Night 5/6 menus around depending on which night is formal night.  For our western itinerary sailing, the Night 6 menu is actually served on Night 5.

A big thank you to our awesome Genie, Araceli.?

Unless they have changed the menus around (which happened on Allure...so entirely possible), ask the Genie if night #1 is filet night in the CK.  It is on some ships...used to be on Harmony, too.  They will only offer the filet one night (unless things have changed) and the filet at CK is the consistently the best one on the whole ship.

(emphasis mine) This might explain my confusion. Which change happened on Allure? In the app it doesn't show night 1 as being filet in CK even though I have always heard it referred to as such on here. Is it on a different night for Allure?

The app has been wrong for so many things.  I would not depend totally on it if I were you.  I would suggest emailing the concierge on Allure closer to your sail date and asking about the filet on Night 1.  They should be able to answer that for you.

Yes, on Allure (April 2018) they had switched filet night from night #1 to night #6. The Genie’s explanation was that “the word had gotten out” that night #1 was filet night so they changed it.  I don’t know if it’s still that way or not.

@Lovetocruise2002 yeah at this point I trust the app about as far as I can throw it. I’m sort of hoping it’s not night 1  as I’m having embarkation lunch at Chops. I fully plan on trying to compare 3 filets on board (Chops, CK, and the steak at Giovanis) but it would be lovely if I could spread some of that cow out lol

Thanks for the info @WAAAYTOOO! I guess I’ll find out onboard. I plan on attempting a live blog so I will make sure to report on my findings!

You can now play the "one week from now we will be _____" game.  Or in your case, "One week from now we will be eating _______ because it's included with Star Class" game.

That game has started!  Latest was today while teaching...one week today, I will be in my OTW cabana in Labadee ?

Update - 5 days out

Last night we received likely our final set of instructions from Araceli before we board on Sunday.  It was regarding the Star Class boarding procedures at Terminal 18 in Port Everglades.  I will sum it up here:

- Upon arriving at the terminal, look for the Star Class flag/sign outside of the terminal.

- Let the staff/porters know that we are SC so that they can bring our luggage directly to the suites entrance.  Do not give our luggage to the porters with the big trolleys.  Look for the porters with the small trolleys.

- At the suites entrance, we should be provided with bell attendant service who will expedite our luggage delivery directly to our suite.  We should also find a Pier Assistance person there who will have a manifest of all SC guests and they will notify Araceli of our arrival.

- As we go through check in, Araceli should be down to meet us.

- She has also advised us that if she is busy with another family, then staff will take us to the 2nd floor to wait for her in the suites area.  I asked her if she is busy, would the Genies take over for one another, meaning could we possibly get another Genie who escorts us on board?  She responded back that she will personally be there to meet us, so I'm taking that as a "no".

At this point, it is feeling pretty real and close.  Pre-cruise communication with Araceli has been nothing short of wonderful.  She is quick to respond and extremely organized.  I have no prior Genie experience to compare it to, but from what I have heard from others, not all Genies are as thorough as this.  Some people don't even hear from their Genies until very close to sail date and the emails traded are few and far between.  I cannot wait to meet her on Sunday!

I might be a suite snob but all are welcome! And I am really down to earth! Why won’t anyone believe me?! ??

I used to be a suite snob back in my "old" married life.  I enjoy sailing more now in steerage.  You take advantage of it....hahahahahahahaha

Breaking News!

3 days out and Hubby is almost done packing!

While this might not seem like a big deal to some, those who know us well will understand the enormity and significance of this situation.  This is literally unheard of!  ?

Must be a special cruise....

One more day of work and we're off on Saturday.  My brain is already on vacation mode...

We're sailing in 10 days and have received one email from our Genie. And only then after I emailed the concierge asking if they had forgotten about us.  Since then, nothing more from the Genie. Very disappointed in the communication from this Genie and already negatively impacting the opinion of our first Star Class experience.

You wouldn’t happen to be on Oasis by any chance would you?

Hmmm...definitely not typical from my experience.  Do you mind if I ask the name of your Genie ?

Did you receive the SC questionnaire a month or so from your sail date ?

What kind of questions/information did your Genie provide in the email you did receive ?

We received our SC questionnaire on January 15th which we completed and sent back the next day. That was the only contact we had until March 3rd when I emailed the Oasis concierge asking if we had an assigned Genie and if they had forgotten about us.

Later that night I received an email from our Genie;

"Thank you for choosing Royal Caribbean. I hope you’re getting excited for your upcoming adventure. My name is XXX and I am thrilled to serve as your Royal Genie. I can’t wait to welcome you to your XXXX Suite XXX onboard Oasis of the Seas on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
I’m thrilled to help you create the most memorable vacation ever. If you have any requests for dining, shows, tours, activities or are celebrating any special occasions, please send them my way. To get started, I recommend you begin reserving your Shore Excursions and any Spa services now on Cruise Planner http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruiseplanner.
Star Class is a wonderful program with exclusive services and amenities, due to the nature and exclusivity of the program these services are only for the guests residing in the Star Class Suites which allows to provide a better experience.
Once I hear back from you, I’ll reach out again to confirm all the exciting details. From this point on, any questions or requests can be sent my way. I’m looking forward to seeing you onboard soon and helping to make your trip extra special."

I responded that night acknowledging receipt of the email and asking a few simple questions. I'm still waiting for him to "reach out again to confirm all the exciting details".

Yes. We are sailing on Oasis on March 17th. Why??

I have heard from a few other star class cruisers on OA in the next few weeks who have had very similar experiences. Not sure what is going on with the Genies there. I am actually really surprised because the Genies on OA are long standing ones. Not newbies. Hopefully you will get on board and it will more than make up for the lack of pre-cruise communication.

Like you, I'm a planner. And when I read your blog, and others, about the planning pre-cruise you did with your Genie it pisses me off, thinking....no...knowing, we've already missed out on some things.

- Reserving Cabanas? Now probably too late
- Dinner plans? Not done
- CK Menus? No idea

Especially considering RCL advertises contact with your Genie 4-weeks before cruising to facilitate your "expereince"

"Approximately 4 weeks before:  Your Royal Genie will contact you via email in order to finalize the details of your vacation."

Back to our regularly scheduled program ?

2 days out!!

Today’s agenda:

Attempt to teach 31 tweens/teens who are just as ready for vacation as I am ?

Mani/Pedi with my girls after school ??

Go home and eat the bare minimum since I will go into the widely known “star class food coma” soon. ?

Finish packing ?

Head to bed ?

I'm a major planner too so I'd be peeved as well.  Our genie contact on Allure was excellent, now I can't even get a simple question answered by the suite concierge for the same cruise you are on (Oasis 03-17).

We are already playing the "this time two weeks from now we will be at Chops" etc. game ?
