KenLM Posted January 19, 2019 Report Share Posted January 19, 2019 We arrive in Barcelona at 9am....after traveling from Vancouver BC via Newark New Jersey... We are concerned that we are not able to check-in until our appointed time.....6:30 pm...9 hours later. So far...RC has not been helpful in letting us know if we can check-in earlier. I understand that other passengers are arriving a few days earlier to enjoy the sights and sounds of Barcelona. Any advice would be appreciated. For very late departures the terminal typically is not open all day long simply because it would require multiple shifts of employees to staff the terminal and do security from 9am to midnight. To be fair to Royal, they probably don't know the answer this far away. Since this is the very first cruise for a brand new ship that likely doesn't help either. Late departures like this are a bit unusual so the challenge is finding anyone who has sailed from Barcelona and departed at midnight. Other passengers are likely facing the same challenge since they will need to leave their hotel rooms in the morning. Coming off a long flight the cost of a hotel near the airport and away from the city center might be well worth it, even for the day.
