Club royale

Recommended Posts

I called club royale to check on a reservation only to be told it had been cancelled due to non payment even though the confirmation I received stated that final payment was due on 2/24/19. Today is 1/12/19. When I pointed this out I was told that comp cruises had to be paid within 24 hrs or it would be cancelled. I explained that the girl who made the reservation for me never mentioned that and I felt I should not be punished because of her neglect. I was put on hold for 59 minutes while she checked with her supervisor only to be told that there was nothing they could do for me. I have only been on 5 cruises with Royal, and I have enjoyed them, but I have 4 more scheduled this year which I am considering cancelling if this is their idea of customer service.

To be honest, I don't even understand how they let you off the phone without getting your full payment.  The absolute ONLY down side to the casino comp offers is that they must be paid in full when booked.  It's really unsat that they cancelled your cruise due to their incompetence.  ...and then to not rectify it ?  Really unsat.

Are your other cruises casino comps too ?

I just got an email telling me I am prime. I get an interior cabin free annually. @WAAAYTOOO, is this correct.

YIPPEE !!!  Yes, that is true.  After April 1 you will be able to book any cruise with the exception of a holiday sailing or a cruise greater than 8 days in length.  Congratulations !

Also, something I haven't tried yet, but plan to after 1 April.  I am going to try and reprice one of the cruises I already have booked (Star Class) using (and upgrading) my annual free cruise.  They may try and charge me a cancellation fee for the nonrefundable deposit but I will fight that as it does not violate either of their "rules" (I will not be changing the ship nor the sail date).  I'll let you know how that goes when I try it.

I booked a Sky class on Allure for next December with the exact methodology you described as advised by my CR reservationist helping me.  I asked all the questions you are concerned about "change fee/cancellation fee" and she assured me she does this all the time and just say I want to apply my annual tier comp cruise to this reservation and as long as no ship change/no date change there are no penalties.  I did have to put down $500 to reserve the room I wanted (that's what my original concern was) but the way I look at it, its $500 less I will have to pay when I make the real reservation.

They have to fix the Program year benefit rules that come with the tier status.  Never used my 2018 Tier cruise, couldn't use it on a 2019 departure cruise, even though I was booking during 2018 program year..  Cant use my 2019 tier status (already earned) until the 2019 program year kicks in.

I won this on the pennies machine.

On our cruise on Brilliance earlier this month I would stop at the same penny machine before I left the casino at night and put $20 in. First 2 nights I won $163 and $178. I actually came off the ship with more cash than when I walked on (~$500) but wasn't sure how many points I accumulated.... I'll find out when I'm on Enchantment in March.

Casino Royale is a ripoff. We sailed Nov 2018 on BR , earned enough points for a total of $500 off next cruise. They never gave us the certificates, called they never mailed them. Called today I was told oops too late they expired.  So annoyed!  They screw up and we pay for it. Not one more cent spent in any of their casinos. We were both Prime after this cruise.

YIPPEE !!!  That's great news !  I thought it SHOULD work but hadn't actually tried to do it yet.  Doin' the happy dance !!

Yesterday I booked two cruises with Club Royal  using some promos , here is some information I gathered:

Even if you already qualified for the next year tear you can not book the free annual cruise for next before April.
If you want to upgrade the annual cruise  from the room type you got you will pay the difference between the room type you got to the upgraded room , so I guess the best is to find a cruise were the room type you are entitle to get is already high.
If you want to use the annual cruise for Holiday or 9+ days cruise you will get 800 $ to 1000$ discount so its not really a good option.

As always with RC and for sure with Club Royal , information can be different from one representative  to another.

Cool. R u referring to the upgrade process and rates associated with a comp offer as the player program is now or before the revamped Club Royale program...? ?

I believe in general, WAYTOO is referring to the fact that the process in place for many years had been when we upgraded from a comp fare, we received a casino discounted rate on the difference between the upgrade fare class and the comped fare class.  Appears now we are paying that full difference.  This has happened to me on my last two bookings and I wasn't sure if it was a policy change or just working with the overseas call center folks.

Ok, so u r definitely still receiving a casino discounted rate when u upgrade from a comp. Before the program changes we were charged "casino rates" pricing for upgrades on comp offers but now they've changed it to using "casino comp" rates for all upgrades which is actually a lower rate then casino rate. But, keep in my the casino rate or the casino comp rate fluctuates just like the normal Royal Caribbean rates do. Hope that helps. ☺

The last two we tried to upgrade from our free interior to ocean view or balcony the cost of the upgrade through Casino Royale was way more than if we calculated through RoyalCaribbean.com.  They told us it was because promotions don't apply to the casino rates and Royal was having a sale.  Is this true?  We are currently trying to upgrade one of our upcoming cabins.

Who knows ?  I think they just make it up as they, these days.
