Tried Royal Up

Hey @mickjacket !   There was another thread for this you can find here:

Seems like it has been hit or miss on this program.  People usually don't find out until a few days before sailing so just keep any eye out on your emails. I haven't gotten an offer yet  so I don't have any experience with it myself, but I don't sail til April so we shall see.

Good luck!

Just put in bid for balcony cabin from inside cabin for our 2/9/19 cruise!! Has anyone had any luck with this, I went a little above the minimum cost but not holding my breath.

I was successful. I went from an OV to a balcony for my 1/19 Rhapsody cruise. I paid 150 each to upgrade. Min bid was 50. I found out on 1/2

Are Royal Up offers emailed out to customers as the sailing gets closer at random or how do you get the chance to bid?  Thank you!

This was our second one, we got the first about 2 months ago maybe shorter. Got the last one last week and bid, however I just checked the RC site and all balconies are sold out so it ain't gonna happen for us. We sail on 2-9-19.

You need to make sure you update your marketing preferences to receive email in order to get a RoyalUp offer.

Hope this helps!

For many of us that doesn't help.  Quite a few people including myself can not successfully subscribe to marketing emails.  I didn't much worry about it before, but now I'm excluded from Royal Up because no one at Royal can figure out how to fix it.

I put 3 bids in a month or so ago and 2 say expired and one says "Pending" we are in an inside cabin and our pending bid is for a balcony. Our cruise is May 19, 2019 out of Amsterdam. Does pending mean we have a good chance?

Where do you go to find out the status of your bids?

Can't you do it through this site? It's too early for me but as it gets closer...

So I wonder if this means that you don't necessarily have to receive an email now to make a bid. For example, last month on my HM sailing, I know lots of people on our roll call got offers through email but I did not. I wonder now with this link if that means that it will be open to all on that particular sailing. Any thoughts anyone?

Oh wow.  Thanks for posting that link -- I haven't seen it before.  I get Casino Offers via snail mail from Royal all the time, but never get anything via email (including RoyalUP).  Something in my account is screwed up and they've never been able to sort it out.  I'm glad there's an alternative way to check now.

Well I thought that's what the link is for? See if you're even eligible for an upgrade. @Lovetocruise2002 do you have an up coming cruise to try it with? Has to be 30 days or less, that's what it said when I tried it.

You mean the Genie didn’t hand deliver the RoyalUp offer to you on a silver platter?

Nope.  My next cruise is Anthem GC which is still 80 something days out.  But now I am excited because I never get the emails!

Someone with a cruise 30 days out or less (and did not get an email) needs to try this.  Anxious to hear if this works even if you did not get the email offer.

@twangster you must have a cruise within 30 days.  Try this out if you did not get the email offer.

Does it work?

Didn't work for a cruise that's close in but did work a cruise just over 30 days away.

I don't think my close in cruise is Royal Up enabled.  They still have inventory selling on the website which for a cruise this close is very strange.

Does anyone know if the program is restricted to US and Canada only?

We got an email about 3 months ago saying the Royal Up programme was available in Australia/New Zealand and got an email to bid on a cruise shortly after.

I think you have to be on the email list to get an offer from RoyalUp

I have made several attempts to get onto the email list but without any success to date. I will try the link when I am 30 days away from sailing and see if that works.

I had a balcony room on Allure for the 9/22/19 sailing.

I put in the following bids for an upgrades and all were rejected, I didnt see any reference of dollars for these on the forum so figured I would share for future cruisers info:

Ultra spacious ocean view with large balcony - $400 per person

Junior Suite - $585 per person

Grand Suite - $1,435 per person

Owners Suite - $1,495 per person
