Upgrading Month's After Booking?

What it the process on doing an upgrade after a cruise has already been booked?  Other caveats are wife used the 0% uplift for payment and then also did a bid for Royal Up right after Black Friday but haven't heard anything yet.  Cruise is in early February, and according to the site there is only a few "balcony" rooms that we want to upgrade to left for booking.  Can I just call up RC directly and say we want to change rooms and pay the difference or is there a better way.

Thanks!

If you booked thru a TA, call them and they will give you the upgrade cost to a balcony via RCI. If you booked directly with RCI you can call them for a quote for an upgrade and pay the difference on current price.. if you had any OBC from previous sales...you run the risk of losing it.

If your cruise is in Feb 19, your final payment date has already passed.  That means that you would not be able to take advantage of a price drop.  However, if you want to upgrade by giving Royal more money, they will usually overlook the “past final payment date” issue and accept your money for an upgrade.  Either have your agent call and ask about an upgrade or if you booked directly, call them yourself.  Since you have made a RoyalUp bid I’m not sure how that might complicate the situation.  Never hurts to ask.

Essentially, yes. If the room you want to change to costs more money, they are usually open to you spending more money.

If you booked directly with RC, call and ask to move up to that room and you should have to pay difference. If you booked with a travel agent, your agent can do this.
