  1. We are looking forward to our second cruise. We took our first one over Christmas Break on Freedom and it turned out my 16 year old son loved it! He kept asking when we were going to go on another cruise so we are going for his senior year spring break. Looking forward to connecting with everyone! I like to go on excursions but my hubby and son don’t so I would like to meet some people who wouldn’t mind me tagging along.
  2. We are sailing on the Icon July 2024. St Thomas offers 2 Snorkeling with Turtle tours. One to Magen's bay: Amazing Magens Bay Snorkeling with Sea Turtles One to an unnamed beach: Beach Escape and Snorkeling with Sea Turtles I know that Magen's bay is the most famous beach - but we would like to pick the excursion with the best chance to see Turtles. Thank you!
  3. If you are sailing on Wonder of the Seas calling St Thomas on March 16 and looking for a 1/2 day snorkel excursion the vicat has opened up a 9AM time slot for 3 hours. Excursions seem to be filling up quickly both through Royal and other sites. The excursion is currently listed on third party sites (Viator) but only for a 1pm time slot. Very good reviews and kid friendly. To book go directly to the the website theviacat.com and the 9AM time will be listed. Looks like short cab ride to the excursion location and plenty of time to return to the ship.
  4. We are visiting St. Thomas on Symphony in December (fingers crossed). Looking for guidance on what to do. We are doing both Labadee and Coco Cay, so not really looking for another beach day. Friends have suggested taking the gondola ride of the mountain, but I am terrified of heights, so that doesn't sound like a ton of fun to me. Any suggestions?
  5. Hello everyone! Lots of great information on this site. Thank you to everyone for their recommendations and opinions. It's not technically our first time, but our last cruise was over 20 years ago before we had kids and boy have things changed! We weren't ready to have to choose between drink packages and specialty dining options, etc. It's really stretching our budget in ways we overlooked. We just booked on the Harmony of the Seas for July 21st. I'd like to ask thoughts on the drink packages. We would not drink enough to break even with the unlimited drinking package. I am a beer drinker with an occasional frozen drink and my wife is a wine drinker for the most part, but usually no more than 2 glasses at a meal. Also, getting all six of us the refreshment package can be a doozy too even with the discount running until tonight. Any insider tips or secrets you all would like to share in this area? I think this time around we are going to skip the Thrill Waterpark. From a budget view, the cost of this for a family of six would crush any additional excursions for the week. I believe there is still a lot to do on the island that is not so pricey. I am interested in thoughts on two of the excursions that we are looking at in St. Thomas. We have four kids... 11, 13, 15, and 19. Not worried about the 19-year-old as she goes with the flow MOST of the time. My wife is looking forward to snorkeling. We are trying to decide between the St. John's Trunk Bay Beach & Snorkel OR the Pirates of St. Thomas Sail, Snorkel, & Beach. My thought is why go to St. John's for snorkeling if you are in St. Thomas. St. Thomas was beautiful the last time I visited almost 30 years ago. Seems like a lot of time is spent in transit from one island to the other and that MAY frustrate the kids if the ride is too long. I have a horseback rider in the family and she wants to do the horseback riding on St. Maarten. Has anyone here done this one and have any feedback? If my daughter and I do the horseback riding, the rest of the family is looking to do something. Any suggestions on St. Maarten? This will be our first time on St. Maarten. Thank you in advance for any suggestions, comments, or opinions. Best, Hawkes
  6. Has anyone taken this excursion? Is transportation included? We are on the Oasis and it appears will be docking at Crown Bay not the dock downtown. The RCCL price is listed at $21 which is less expensive than doing it on your own.
  7. Hello, My wife and I are taking our first cruise in October and we are very excited. The 3 ports being visited are Nassau, St Thomas, and St Maarten. I am very inquisitive and I want to make sure the excursions we are looking at are quality or not. Being our first time being on a cruise and first time leaving the US other than trips into Canada we have decided to stick with Royal Caribbean promoted excursions. I tried searching this site but couldn't accurately say the reviews i found were for the exact excursion we are looking at. Any help from some more seasoned crusiers would be greatly appreciated. Nassau - Balmoral Island Beach and Kayak Adventure St Thomas - 5 Star Island Tour St Maarten - Pinel Island Eco Escape Thanks for your help
  8. Wondering if Sapphire beach or Magens bay is more recommended. The appeal of Magens being one of the top 10 in the world is appealing but we would also like access to snorkeling areas, kayaking, and beach chairs
  9. We will be traveling on Harmony of the seas and be in St. Thomas Tuesday November 21st 2017. I just called and Paradise Point in St. Thomas does not think they will be open in but Mountain Top said they will definitely be open.
  10. I will be sailing on the Harmony of the Seas on Feb 18, 2017 Join and follow my live blog of my trip and I explore the ship and Ports of Call Nassau, St Thomas and St Marten
  11. I will be on the Allure in a few weeks on the Eastern Caribbean cruise. I will be visiting St. Maarten, Nassau, and St. Thomas. I have been researching excursions for the ports and just wondered if anyone who has been to these ports had any "can't miss" suggestions on things to do? I don't snorkel. I am thinking about Maho Beach in St. Maarten so that I can see the planes land but I don't know if I want that to be an all day excursion. I have also read on Trip Advisor and Cruise Critic that 'Bernard's Tours' in St. Maarten is pretty good. Has anyone used them? Also, if anyone has any suggestions about Nassau (was thinking of the Paradise Island waterslide and lazy river package. Is it worth the money?) and also St. Thomas, I would appreciate any and all feedback.
