  1. Hi, everyone! I'm back on RCCL at the end of January. Can't wait. It's been a rough year and there's a lot going on right now, health-wise, with various family members. This will be a wonderful break from reality. (Though I have to work while on board, it won't be too bad.) We are sailing on Enchantment of the Seas out of Baltimore. Port stops are Orlando, CocoCay, and Nassau. Eight nights! First time on Enchantment, first time out of Baltimore, first-ever port stop at Orlando, and fifth solo cruise. I blogged last year about my first ever solo cruise on Odyssey, then on Allure. I was a little uncertain about solo cruising then and still finding my way into the experience. I'm not uncertain anymore. I love cruising solo and go into it with confidence and happy anticipation. There are still things that challenge me as a 55 year-old solo traveler.....staying in the hotel alone the night before always bothers me. I get a little worried getting into a taxi. Anxiety can creep into such situations a bit. But those are small things. Cruising solo is awesome, and for those who are tempted to try it--do it! I love making my own schedule, not having to compromise, not inconveniencing anyone if I stay up late or get up early. I love being at sea and exploring new ships and ports! I am happily married with a husband that does not like cruising very much and can't travel right now, but who likes to hear about it all. Sending photos and texts home to my family is lots of fun. I have found that as a solo cruiser, even though I mostly keep to myself, opportunities pop up all the time to meet people and eventually explain that yes, I am traveling alone. People are always so surprised and immediately intrigued! Sometimes I can see the wheels turning as someone realizes that cruising solo is an option they've never considered. I don't know what to expect on Enchantment, but I picture this cruise as being very laid back and peaceful. I picture being a lump in a lounge chair, or possibly asleep by the pool. (Maybe shamelessly eavesdropping on conversations nearby.) . But I'll also be walking, swimming, hitting the gym, exploring port, things like that. I basically want to sail away from 2022 and not look back. You know? I'll be blogging away when the time comes! See you then.
  2. Hi, there are 4 of us finishing our 7 night cruise from Athens to Venice…May 22 to May 29, 2023 anybody have advice on how to travel from the cruising port- Porto Corsini on May 29, 2023 to Venice? Rent a car or pay a driver or bus/train?
  3. Hi all! We are on our first cruise right now and I wanted to put this into the universe for future searchers. I read everything I could on here before the trip, so I thought it might help someone. There is no standalone Starbucks on Enchantment of the Seas, so when you go to Cafe Latte-tudes, you can get Starbucks drinks, including Frappuccinos, with your Refreshment Package.
  4. Hi folks, I was checking the Royal Caribbean website today to see if there were any price changes for my 23 December 2021 sailing on Enchantment of the Seas out of Baltimore. That sailing is no longer on the website (it's the first sailing after her return to service), and when I called Royal Caribbean, all categories were closed. I'm trying not to be pessimistic, but that doesn't seem like a good sign. I feel like even if it were completely sold out, it would still show on the website. And that's a mighty big if, considering that the 31 December sailing still has plenty of cabins available. Cruisemapper shows her in the Atlantic with a scheduled arrival at Port Everglades on 12 November, which seems like plenty of time for shakedown before heading to Baltimore. I welcome your opinions, wild guesses and conspiracy theories. In other news, I just returned from a five night sailing on Serenade of the Seas out of Tampa. I'm not much for live-blogging or writing reviews, but if you have any questions let me know. Thanks, Quinn
  5. I will be on Enchantment of the Seas sailing out Nov. 29, 2019.There will be 5 total in our party. We have the unlimited dining package, but looking at the Main Dining Room, it seems there are way more choices on their menu. I also see they have premium selections. If we were to eat at the Main Dinning Room, will my unlimited dinning package allow us to select from the premium choices, or will we still have to pay the listed price, or a discounted price? If discounted what would that charge be? I am debating on if we need to keep the package. I know in the MDR you are allowed to try multiple things on the menu, where Chops is basically one item per course. I am currently in at $118 per person for a 5 night cruise which seems like a great price, but $118 spent in the MDR might go farther than at Chops. Thoughts? Thanks for your help.
  6. Hi all! My husband and I will be cruising out of Miami in March. Parking is $20 a day but I was curious if any veterans knew of other areas close by that are cheaper or free (we’d be willing to Uber to the port to save money). thanks!
  7. Hi! I'm sailing with Enchantment of the Seas in March with a group of 72 other people. I organized the group, have everyone paid and ready to go and was just told i get a $1020 credit. I need suggestions on what to do with my credit. I was thinking upgrading my room, but I don't know how simple that is. Also purchasing myself a drink package...but I also want to be fair to the rest of the group. Suggestions?? Cheers!
