  1. Hello All, we just got back from a 5-day Bermuda cruise on the Anthem of the Seas and I wanted to share my "lessons learned" as a "pay it forward" for all the great forum members who provided advice to me for several questions I posted. We are a 4 person family (42M, 39F, 13M, and 10F) and we had 2 balcony rooms booked on Deck 13 forward. I hope I can help some newbie cruisers with the info below! 1. Do Show Up Early on Embarkation Day: Our ship was schedule to leave from Bayonne, NJ cruise port at 4:30pm. Coming from NH, we drove to Danbury, CT the night before and stayed at a hotel (
  2. I have never been on a cruise, nor have I been out of the US and will be taking my first cruise on Rhapsody May 23, 2020! Any tips, advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are planning to arrive in Venice the day before embarkation and will be going to Prague and Warsaw for a few days after the cruise.
  3. Hi all! My parter and i are sailing on the ovation in March and we don't want to attach a credit card to our sea pass cards as the last cruise i went on it went pear shaped. How do we add money onto our seapass card? Can we add more throughout the journey? Can we keep track of what we have spent? This may seem like a silly question but I've only ever sailed when i was under 18/21 so i didn't have all of these descisions to make by myself!! Any help is much appreciated!
  4. Hi all... Now booked on the Mariner of the seas departing and returning to Singapore 8th Feb 2018 for 7 nights. Firstly this is all new to me, if I am already repeating a well trodden path on this forum elsewhere then I apologise, I have had a quick whizz through and found 1 post which provided some pointers but wanted to start my own post for getting some feedback. As a mid 50's male I am familiar with solo travel (and solo travel in groups of solo's) as I have been doing that for the last 5 years (mostly roughing it in Africa or camping/trekking in the US), I don't mind my own
  5. Good Morning all, I have seen several posts that contradict each other on gratuities and the Drink packages.\ Some state that the gratuities are included, some state not. The terms and conditions stated on my Beverage offer is: (I actually read this stuff)(And yes, I tried to get the answer before asking) Online Beverages reservations for your sailing will be available up until 22-Mar-2017 11:59 PM EDT. If you are within the cut-off time, you will need to make reservations onboard. * Prices are per person unless otherwise noted and shown in USD. All selections are subject
  6. I am a doctoral student (and fellow cruiser) looking to get some opinions from first-time cruisers about participation in online cruise communities and message boards. This is not intended to spam the message boards. I’m seeking help to complete a study as part of my program requirements. You will be asked a few questions about your participation in this community, as well as your upcoming cruise vacation. If you complete the survey within one week, you will be entered into a drawing to win one of two $50 Amazon gift cards. Your opinions are important and your responses are a
  7. Hey Guys! New to the forums, I was previously on a well known cruise site but left after disagreements with some censorship on the forums by the admins. So thought I'd give this site a go! I'm from Birmingham in the UK, and I'm really looking forward to my next cruise aboard Explorer of The Seas in October this year - we're going for my 30th birthday! Tom :)
