  1. Is anyone else excited for this repositioning cruise?! Intend to visit both HK and Shanghai Disneylands, as well as VinWonders in Nha Trang!
  2. Hi All, I'll be going onboard Spectrum OTS in October 2023. My Tour Agent has told me that it could be berthed at either the Yokohama International Passenger Terminal or the Daikoku Pier Cruise Terminal. Getting to the Yokohama International one seems easy enough, I could probably walk from any of the hotels in the Yokohama Chinatown area. However, I would like to get some advice for the Daikoku one as it doesn't seem to be quite as easy. Thanks all!
  3. Hi. We are from PH and we booked a cruise in Singapore. My husband and I want to exchange our rooms but we can't edit the names on the website guest info (booking was made directly into the website). Tried contacting via email in the Singaporean branch email but no reply yet. Any info or advice for us? Thank you.
  4. I know you can have poker lessons onboard. But what I'd really love to learn and play for my cruise from Singapore with Spectrum of the Seas is Mahjong. (Yes, I have recently rewatched 'Crazy Rich Asians' as holiday excitement grows!) Is this possible? Will there be Mahjong sets on the ship? Anyone done anything like this before? It would be perfect for the day we are at sea. (Curently, the only class to book is to make sushi.) Thanks!
  5. I discovered the band AURA on YouTube after seeing clips of them performing on Quantum of the Seas and Spectrum of the Seas. I'd love to see them perform, but can't find their website etc to see which sailings they might be on this year. (I'm on Spectrum in March.) Anyone have any info please?
  6. I'm cruising on Spectrum of the Seas in March, but still don't know what shows to expect on the ship. I can only see Silk Road listed on the app. How soon are shows usually announced? Any rumours on which broadway musical will be performed. (Hoping for 'We Will Rock You'!) Thanks!

  8. Royal Caribbean Announces 2023-2024 Expanded Singapore Program Royal Caribbean has announced deployment for the Spectrum of the Seas for 2023-2024, and longer cruises are making a comeback, according to a press release. A mix of new 5- to 12-night cruises will whisk adventurers to destinations in Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam, joining the cruise line’s short getaways to Malaysia and Thailand. On a mix of longer cruises that are 5-, 7-, 9- and 12-night itineraries, calls include Bangkok, Thailand; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Manila, Philippines. Royal Caribbean’s crowd favorite 3- and 4-night getaways, first introduced in July, round out the cruise line’s next year-round season. The Spectrum will head back to the Penang, Malaysia, and Phuket in Thailand. “During Royal Caribbean’s first year-round season in Singapore, we’ve continued to see travellers return for more. Being able to visit international shores again has only increased that demand. People want to cruise with us, and now they can set their sights on new adventures for next year. Today’s holidaymakers seek unique experiences and a fuss-free vacation – they want to have a fun holiday without having to worry about confusing travel requirements and restrictions – and Spectrum of the Seas delivers exactly that. The combination of Asian-themed experiences and signature favourites on board with the opportunities to explore Asia’s energetic cities, traditional architecture and exotic landscapes makes for the perfect way to embark on the revenge travel vacationers are seeking today,” said Angie Stephen, vice president and managing director, Asia-Pacific, Royal Caribbean International. The upcoming cruises include two 12-night sailings. These sailings can also be enjoyed back to back, visiting a new destination almost every day for the entire 24-night adventure. Included are 10 destinations unique to this experience, such as Hong Kong; Tokyo, Osaka and Mount Fuji, Japan; and Nha Trang and Hue/Danang, Vietnam.
  9. Currently booked on the Dec 10, 2020 Japan cruise on Spectrum OTS (and hoping that it will not be cancelled - fingers crossed). The ship will dock at the Nakagusuku Port - 中城湾 in Japanese) instead of Naha Port and I wonder if anyone had any past experience on this port. Please send any info, advice or local tour / car rental etc... Thanks in advance.
  10. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! It’s FINALLY cruise time! We are headed to Hong Kong to board Spectrum for a back-to-back, 7 days to Japan and Philippines and then 4 days to Vietnam. Our bags are packed: We fly from Tokyo, where we currently live, to Hong Kong today on Cathay Pacific. The flight is about 5 hours with a one hour time change. Cathay Pacific is generally a solid choice for flying around the region and the weather forecast is decent, so we should have a smooth day <knocks on all the wooden things> One 22” suitcase, one 24”, and a backpack. The only reason for the backpack is to hold MisterZ’s work laptop (boo!) and his Child (otherwise known as his camera — details on this later if I can cajole him into giving me some photos for this blog). And we’re off!
  11. Hi, all! I’d booked the Spectrum of the Sea in Dec. Now just 90 days to go. Are there any benefits for early check-in right now? (Not yet paid the remaining balance) or actually no differences to do so in Nov? Sorry as I’m a new cruiser, maybe this is a silly question. Thanks in advance!?
  12. I think I'd book this cruise for the food alone - holy smokes!!!! I'd buy a dining package and eat at Hot Pot every night.
  13. Royal Caribbean UK's Twitter has announced that the first Quantum Ultra-Class cruise ship will be named Spectrum of the Seas. Construction has started today at the Meyer Werft shipyard and is due to make its maiden voyage in 2019. “Today is a very special day in the development of our new Quantum Ultra ship, Spectrum of the Seas. We are now one step closer to delighting our guests in Asia Pacific with this remarkable ship. Spectrum will be another giant leap forward in vessel design and guest experiences that will provide travelers with ample opportunities to create unforgettable memories.” -Michael Bayley CruiseToTravel has also posted an article: http://www.cruisetotravel.com/2017/08/16/royal-caribbean-announces-spectrum-of-the-seas/
