  1. Hi guys, Cruise newbie here. Sorry if this question is obvious but.. I booked a Balcony gty room (no room selection) however received a 'change of stateroom email' today and we've been moved to a different room, a balcony room on deck 7 with 50% obstructed views on the Ovation of the Seas. Is this normal to happen? is it there no guarantee your view will be obstructed when you book a balcony room? Im a bit disheartened but if its what they can do i guess it is what it is. Thanks
  2. Hello! Recently booked a cruise for independence of the seas and got talked into upgrading to a Spacious Ocean View Balcony room. My original room was just an ocean view on the lower decks but the price wasn’t much different so I decided to upgrade. I went on the website to see what the room would look like and the 3D tour that’s shown for the Spacious Ocean View Balcony room for Independence doesn’t actually look like it has a balcony - just a window?? Please see image below. No sliding door. Just a window. Kind of annoyed because if there is no balcony then I might as well go back to my original room and pay less for the same thing. Can anyone let me know what I’m not understanding?? Thank you!!!
  3. This board is always so helpful and I was wondering about the studios on some RCC ships. I am mostly a solo traveler so I am use to paying the supplement. I am looking to possibly book on Odyssey of the seas Nov 28 2021. I saw a balcony room that was $800 less than OV. It says studio balcony and features a full bed instead of the royal king. Mariner also tried to give me a studio interior when I booked my Jan 2021 sailing, no dice. Has anyone sailed in one of these? Are they still charged the double occupancy price? Will you still get double C&A points? Are there any benefits besides the price points? Thanks in Advance
  4. So I have searched and searched and searched and can't find the layout for my room, 10652, on Oasis of the Seas. I know that I could google the ship name and room number, but I keep getting stock photos. I also know there are a few threads that explain how to determine if your bed is next to the balcony or next to the closet but I get a different answer for each one when I'm "counting" on my own. So any help would be greatly appreciated that lets me know whereabouts my bed will be.
  5. I couldn't decide to start a new thread our add too another thread, but decided on a new thread. It has to do with the new pricing strategy, refundable, non-refundable, etc, etc., and a lot of you may already know this, I had not seen it on RCCL web site yet so I wanted to post this information. I was researching a cruise that I want to take in either 2019 or 2020 (I know 2020 are not out yet, OCD ring a bell), so I was looking at the 2019 12 night South Pacific-Fiji cruise out of Sydney, so I picked the 3-17-19 cruise, clicked "Book now", number of cabins, number of people, type of cabin (Suite), (This is the new part), do I want refundable or non-refundable deposit? I pick refundable, because there is only $67pp difference between the two, go to the next page to select what type of suite, I'm only given the choice of Ocean View Panoramic or a Junior, well I really want a Grand or Owners, so I go back and pick non-refundable, I'm presented with Panoramic, Junior, Grand and Owners. Besides the differences of them limiting what room types you see there was also a difference of non-refundable having an instant $100 OBC, they both offered the current BOGO offer and the discounts for them looked similar, i didn't actually calculate them out, so not 100% confident that they were the same. I did use the Junior as a comparison since it was on both and the non-refundable was cheaper on the base rate by $71, the categories all looked the same they were both offering J3 and J4. I know a lot of you use TA, and so do I, I was just doing a little research and was surprised by the web page hiding room types depending on Refundable vs non-refundable. Now this is a pretty specific example and I didn't do this comparison for any other cruise destinations, IE. Caribbean, Alaska etc.. Please fill me in if I missed something...
  6. I think Royal Caribbean needs to update some info on their Website. When we booked our Cruise back in November for this upcoming April 19th it stated that FREE ROOM SERVICE was all included in our cost. Feeling kind of "jipped." Think they should give onboard credit to those who had booked prior to this $7.95 charge that they are adding soon. ONE FARE COVERS EVERYTHING FROM RELAXATION TO ROOM SERVICE~ this is from their website~~~sad!!
