  1. Just wondering who is going on this cruise? I'll be celebrating my birthday onboard, and bringing as many of my friends and family as can afford to come. Hope to see you guys there!
  2. My husband and I went on this cruise and had a great time. This was our first cruise together, our first time on Harmony, and his first time on a cruise.
  3. We will be sailing on Harmony on Feb 18th 2023. We have purchased the unlimited dining package. Looking forward to dining at Wonderland. Is this including in the Unlimited Dining Package in any way? Is there a credit like Izumi? Thanks in advance!
  4. I know this isn't everyone's thing, but I am a huge soccer fan and the World Cup is going on during my 8night November 26th to December 4th sailing. The US team plays on the 29th, a sea day. There is no playmakers on the ship so what is my next option where they may be showing games. I know they show football on the big screen, any chance they may show soccer games, especially the US game. I'm sure there must be at least a few other fans on the ship. Anyone on the ship that I can ask to get it shown?
  5. We made a reservation for the 3 of us for dinner and our friends also made their reservations for 3. We made them the same time and date and have linked our cruising reservations. How do I make sure the restaurant is aware we wish to dine together, a 6 top so to speak. I know the ship is at capacity and I'm not sure how to communicate this. Thanks everyone.
  6. Hi, I am boarding Harmony of the Seas 7n western on 5/1/22 and I will have my 9 month old, and 11 & 13 year old boys. I am looking for all kinds of advice, tips, tricks etc. I plan to take my own travel crib because it's lightweight, compact, and I know its clean. But in general how does a pack-n-play fit into a room? I currently have a Boardwalk Balcony but I did the Offer Up (pending) for the ultra spacious room. I am thinking putting in an offer for the junior suite and also basic balcony room too. Maybe the ocean will be quieter for the baby to sleep. But anyway, I will have 2 adults, baby and 11yr old in my room so I am looking for suggestions on rooms. Should I go to a bigger suite? We are a party of 10 so I am unsure how it works if one room is a suite and the rest are basic. I want to dine with everyone so not looking to be secluded. Baby- How did you heat water for the bottle? How did you get water for the bottle? Did you take a sound machine? Did you take a stroller? Uppababy cruz or umbrella? Suggestions on what to carry on vs pack for the baby. Suggestions on packing enough but not a billion things for a 9m old. CoCoCay - Would you book a cabana? We were debating the over water one but it's not $1,899 so now looking at the chill island one for $999. We are doing the helium balloon and 3 out of 10 are doing the jetski otherwise the day will be chill on the island. All the adults have cruised before just not the kiddos so share what you got. Thanks in advance!
  7. Our visit in August is here from 0800-1800. Would like a Beach type day to include two teens (16) I am looking for other then a Royal excursion. What have you done that you would do again and recommend? Resortsforaday.com is limited & Jaital.com has a few. Is there anything or anywhere else? Thanks so much!
  8. We will be sailing on Harmony of the Seas soon and I'm wondering if anyone has a recent itinerary they can share for any special events we may need to prepare for? Also any reviews on recent experiences with any of the extra excursions or restaurants we plan to try? We plan to try Wonderland for the first time so if anyone has eaten there recently, how was that? We also plan to try Jamie's and Izumi. Our shore excursions will consist of a beach bed on South Beach in CocoCay, Sea Trek in Cozumel as well as the all inclusive dolphin and manatee experience, and the monkey, sloth, and iguana interaction on Roatan. We plan to just explore the port in Costa Maya I believe. Any feed back I can get would be a huge help.
  9. Hello all! Hope all is well with each of you and you are safe and sound. We are scheduled to depart on Harmony of the Seas 15 Sept 2019 out of Port Canaveral. I have been stressing about storms around that area or storms around the ports. On average, how often are cruises cancelled altogether because of hurricanes? Do they ever change departure ports because of damage at an original departure port? We are travelling from Australia and have had this trip planned for 1.5 years now. Our family is meeting us in Port Canaveral. It looks like some itineraries have changed over the past week due to Dorian and there may be some changes over the next week or so. I'm just thinking about a worst-case scenario situation such as leaving from Miami instead of Port Canaveral, or even Tampa, or Jacksonville. Maybe leaving on a different date or staying longer. I know there's a lot of information out there already. Finding it is the fun part. Any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I am concerned about missing shows. I have 6:45 my time dinning and the shows start around 8-8:30... 6:45 is the earliest I can choose so my question is first will I make it to the shows and second how can I choose earlier eating times and if I can how and what time should I choose?
  11. We are cruising on the Harmony on August 4th. Myself, husband and 12 & 13 year old. I have several questions I'm having a hard time finding answers to.... please help if you can ? 1. Communication? We can't afford the VOOM package for all four of us but we have to communicate with the kids. Most are saying the texting doesn't work well on the new app. We have android so can't try the "free" iphone hack. If the app doesn't give you a notification of a message how is that even helpful? Isn't the best part of cruising NOT checking your phone every five minutes ? 2. Photo Package? We've had good and bad experiences with ship photographers. I don't want to buy the package for digital prints before we go in case we don' t have many good ones. However, the price is totally worth it compared to hiring a photographer here at home. Can we purchase at the end of the cruise and if so, is it less expensive? 3. "Teen" activities? I'm hearing many people mention the teen activities end up being all together and not separated between 12-14 and 15-17. My newly 12 year old is not ready for, nor has any interest in hanging out around 17 year olds. Anyone have experience with that? This is our first trip without the kids in the "Kids" club. 4. App schedule? Your experience with the app... So far our dinner and show reservations are accurate on the app. Many have mentioned the on board activities in the cruise compass do not align with the app. What was your experience? And, once on board and we "add them to our calendar" will they show up on our personal calendar similar to our dining reservation? 5. Clothes? Any tips on getting very active teens to dress nicely? They only wear t-shirts and athletic shorts without argument. I can get my son to wear "golf" shirts but still with athletic shorts ? 6. Themes? Are there theme nights we really need to prepare for? Any other tips greatly appreciated. We aren't new to this but new to teens and a giant boat!!!
  12. We will be cruising next May with our families on Harmony of the Seas. Our daughter will be the youngest at 2 and probably the only child with the rest as adults in their twenties or fifties. Our ports of call are Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan as well as Perfect Day CocoCay. Excluding CocoCay, which, if any, of those ports would be best to just walk off the ship and eat and shop or go to a beach without an excursion? We do have some in our party with mobility issues, so a short walk would be preferable or we could do a taxi ride. If there's nothing in those ports that fit the bill for that, what excursions would you recommend for us that our 2 year old would enjoy and be able to do? Thanks for your help!
  13. We are getting ready to sail on the Harmony of the Seas on Sept 15th. My 3 year old will be sailing with us. I would like to know if there are height restrictions for the slides in Splashaway Bay and the Aqua Park. My son is 38" and potty trained. Will he be granted access in both Splashaway Bay and the Kids Aqua Park? I read on a recent blog that he would need to wear a swim diaper even if he is potty trained. Is this true? Are the height restrictions enforced? I would greatly appreciate any insight. Thank you in advance!
  14. My wife and I are going on our first cruise in October (for our 20th anniversary), on Harmony of the Seas. We booked a central park balcony state room which came with a few promotional items. One of the items is lunch for 4 at a choice of Jaime's Italian, Johnny Rockets, or Sabor. My question is, since there are only 2 of us, would that mean we could do two lunches, or is it one lunch for up to 4 people?
  15. Recently purchased a deluxe beverage package for a week end next May & gotta 10% discount but had to add tips as a extra, that said does anyone have any knowledge about a 20/30% discount as the date gets closer. Some have said RC does occasionally offer higher discounts, Just seems a little pricy for a weekender @ almost $400 - Thanks for any advice
  16. This is what happens on Harmony of the Seas at 2:30 pm on a rainy sea day. Chair hogs? No! They must be somewhere near! ?
  17. Have no fear @Lovetocruise2002 I will indeed being doing my live blog in hopefully all its usual glory. Finally, my turn again to set sail! As you might have guessed based on the topic I'll be setting sail onboard Harmony of the Seas. This will be my second time onboard Harmony and sailing ninth sailing on an Oasis class ship. Itinerary brief, Eastern: Ft. Lauderdale, Sea Day, Sea Day, St. Maarten, San Juan, Labadee, Sea Day, Eviction in Ft. Lauderdale An idea of what is to come can be seen on my last LIVEish from January on Oasis Only one new toy this time around, a new laptop. While my Surface Pro 3 has been a great travel companion, it has started to show its age. Last month I was able to get a deal on a discontinued display model Lenovo Flex5 at Costco. Only difference the new model has is a better GPU. Only other thing tech-wise this cruise will be an experiment that involves nonstandard use of tcp/5223. It’s Friday and the day just started, plus I still have a long day of travel ahead of me. I’m sure I’ll still be up for some time with final packing and other tasks. Keep an eye open on the Twitter and Periscope feeds listed in my signature. Can’t guarantee I’ll be active on those platforms, but I might do a few quick scopes. Ohh yeah, forgot. The 360 camera was replaced and I'll make plans to use it early on this cruise, maybe.
  18. We will be traveling on Harmony of the seas and be in St. Thomas Tuesday November 21st 2017. I just called and Paradise Point in St. Thomas does not think they will be open in but Mountain Top said they will definitely be open.
  19. How can I find and PRINT copies of the cruise compass for the 7 day Harmony of the Seas Eastern Caribbean, with St Kitts
  20. Hi! I want to book a Superior Ocean View with Balcony stateroom on the Harmony (5D Cabin #12702) but I don't know if the sofa bed makes the 3rd and 4th guest share the bed or if it comes separate. I'm traveling with my husband and two kids (21 and 25 yrs old -not really kids) but they won't share the same bed so I'm wondering if anyone has a picture of how the sofa bed looks like when opened!
  21. OK, so it is Thursday and like me I have to even start packing. Well, my clothes at least. Camera gear and most of my electronics are packed on the other hand. Travel to the port plans are as followed. Taking RedCoach (upscale bus) from Tallahassee to Ft. Lauderdale Friday morning. This will be the third time using the service, second to Ft. Lauderdale. Cost was $168 round trip with a refundable fare, cheaper than flying (from Tallahassee) and would have been a bit less if choosing one of the other fare options. Friday night, I'll be staying at the Embassy Suites on 17th street. In the morning, thinking Uber or Lyft to the port to be there by 10:00-10:30am. That is it for now, if you want to get an idea of what to expect see my previous LIVEish posting from January 2017 on Oasis of the Seas: As a bonus, I can stay I've stepped foot on every Oasis class ship in service with in the last twelve months. Was on Allure when Harmony came into service. It isn't every day you can claim being on the Worlds largest and second largest cruise ship... Once I hit the road Friday, or maybe sometime Thursday, I'll replace the contents of this post.
  22. I am departing on Harmony of the Seas March 25, 2017. I arrive a day prior per RCCI recommendation. Anybody have a hotel recommendation that is close to the port, reasonably priced (trying to stay at or under $150), and provides transportation to/from FLL and/or Harmony of the Seas embarkation port? Any ideas would be much appreciated!
  23. Cruising for the first time in a LONG time and fired up to be on the largest in the world--anybody else going on this trip? Any cruising vets (Harmony of the Seas in particular) have some Do's and Don'ts to share? Loving the inside info I've found so far on this site! Ben
  24. I'm looking to book a hotel in Fort Lauderdale pre-cruise. Sailing on Harmony Feb 11th. We have stayed in the Atlantic before and although its ranked a 5 star, it wasn't worth the money. Looking for other suggestions, 4 stars and higher only. Many thanks!
  25. Hello all... We have a group booking for next May 20, 2017 on the new, exciting Harmony of the Seas. Unfortunately, some of our friends are a little wishy-washy or unsure if they will enjoy the cruising experience. In any case, we have cabins to fill in order to secure our group booking price. The big advantage is a big savings off of Royal Caribbean's sale prices. I'm not a salesman, a con-artist or anything like that. I just want to make sure we fill our group booking requirements in order to get a big savings. If anyone is interested or has any questions, please let me know. Tim
