  1. As I'm sure many of you have been confused as I have regarding how reservations work with the various food packages I wanted to start this topic. Also to get help on my own question. Ultimate Dining package people all have the strategy of having a reservation plan pre determined and taking that to a specialty restaurant the day of boarding and immediately reserving their times. I got my spreadsheet with all the times all prepared and ready to go! My question is will Royal let you go straight to a restaurant to make your reservations before completing you muster drill? In addition I haven't found good info on weather Izumi Hibachi can do reservations for other restaurants while you are there. Since you can only reserve Izumi physically at the restaurant. My plan for my upcoming spring break cruise on Harmony was to head straight to Izumi to make my reservation for it and all my other restaurants, then muster drill after. I have just seen conflicting information that some say Izumi will do all of your reservations and others say they will only do their own. I know with it being a spring break cruise its going to be packed, so I want to be as prepared as possible and get the dinning times I want. This is my first Royal cruise as I've only been on carnival before. Just want to make sure I get the most out of the package and cruise!
  2. As you can see in the screenshot that Ive attached below you can see that I've added the unlimited dining package for my May 16th cruise on the Utopia, but I encountered an issue with my reservations. I selected the Mason Jar brunch, but it appears as a separate charge in my cart instead of being linked to my package. Can anyone clarify if the Mason Jar for brunch is included in the unlimited dining package, or will I need to pay extra? Thank you!
  3. Hello I am going on the Ovation for an Alaska cruise Sept 12, 2022. I have purchased the unlimited dining package for myself and my SO. I have cruised before but have never used the dining package. I am wondering how it actually works? Can you reserve more than one specialty restaurant per day? For example if I wanted to go to Izumi for lunch then Chops for dinner? Or is it exclusively one restaurant per day? Could I get something from FISH & SHIPS then make a reservation for Jaime's later on etc? At Izumi if I want to order another food item over my $35.00 limit would I just pay the difference out of pocket? If someone could help answer all my questions I would really appreciate it.
  4. This may be (probably is) a dumb question, but if you get the 3-Night Dining Package on an Oasis-class ship and are staying in a suite, can/will the Suites Concierge make you reservations for you?
  5. I have a bunch of random dining questions so I'm just going to throw them all in here: 1. Is it actually worth it to buy a dining plan for a five night cruise? 2. Thinking about purchasing the chops plus one option. Has anyone ever done this and enjoyed it? 3. Does the $35 come with the chops plus one plan? Does it still not apply to izumi? Would it work for lobster in the main dining room? The reason I'm asking is because there's such limited dining on our ship, there aren't too many a la carte options that I'm aware of... I'm sure there are many lol 4. We're thinking about purchasing a beach club pass. How's the food at the beach club? I heard it's worth the purchase just for that! 5. With the dining plan, I know you have to schedule your first choice either the first or second night. What night would you guys recommend skipping the MDR? Right now, my plan is to eat in the main dining room on the first night, and the two port days, specialty dining during sea days. Is there any specific days you would also recommend going to the MDR?
  6. I saw something new in the dining section during my practically daily Cruise Planner stalking and thought I'd post about it here. It's a new package that is for Chops along with any other specialty dining restaurant. I see it in both my Nov Grandeur sailing and May 2020 Harmony one. The below screencap is from Harmony, but Grandeur has pricing at $59 pp. It looks like they would make you dine at Chops on night 1 and then you can pick any other night for the other restaurant. I wonder if this is a follow up to reports of Chops being excluded from packages on certain ships (Allure being the one I hear mentioned most often). Also I just noticed this in the terms and conditions "Second dinner of package may not be redeemed in Chops Grille. "
  7. When I went on to look at the pricing for my already-booked cruises, I found that the cost of the 3 night dining package on my April 8, 2018 Grandeur sailing has gone up by $10. The price I paid a number of weeks ago for this package was $75/pp. Today's website shows a price of $85/pp for this 3 night package. I don't know if the price has increased for any of the other packages or not. We were only interested in the 3 night package so I don't know what the cost for the others had been in the past.
  8. I'm having a scheduling conflict. Only one way to solve it. I want to book a dining package and I want to book Chef's Table. My wife wants to make an appearance in the MDR on the first night and do CT on the second night. With this, the dining package wont work. UNLESS. . . Can Chef's Table be used as one of the restaurants in the dining package?
