  1. Socialized with a passenger couple on my most recent cruise last weekend and the topic brought up was how they had a booked cruise cancelled on them by royal caribbean. I didn't think too much of it aside from sympathizing with them and moving on to more cheerful conversation. Thinking back on this event, I have so many followup questions brewing due to paranoia and my overly cautious nature when it comes to planning my vacations. I've made a list of question I hope someone could help answer in regards to "if" and what to do if royal caribbean cancels your cruise Questions What happens if you've already paid for the cruise, excursions, drink packages, dining packages, prepaid gratuities, port fees/taxes, etc? what happens if you've already paid for round trip flight tickets corresponding to that cruise sailing? Does royal caribbean fairly compensate and what do they compensate for? Does cancellation happen often and reasons that could cause this to happen? Does cancellation happen days or weeks or months prior to sailing date? If anyone has more helpful input to add to this topic it would be most appreciated! Just compiling information to confidently deal with the situation should it ever arise for anyone.
  2. Hey there. Sharing my Q&A with Royal here, in case this helps someone decide. This is targeted only to those with cruises canceled just this week (the ones that went thru May 12) and were offered to have their Cruise Planner purchases given back in OBC as opposed to refunded.
  3. From the RCI Facebook page: We regrettably announce that it will be necessary to cancel the upcoming 11-night cruise on Radiance of the Seas departing 6 April 2018. This is to conduct necessary repairs on the ship's Azipod propulsion system, which impacts the ships’ speed and ability to deliver future scheduled cruises. The ship’s guest services are currently fully operational, and there is no impact on the maneuverability of the ship or on the safety of our guests and crew as it returns to Sydney from its current Queensland coastal cruise. After exploring numerous repair options and to ensure readiness for future cruises, repairs will take place from 6 April to 17 April. We are currently in the process of informing all impacted guests and their travel agents. All guests will be provided with a full refund as well as a 100% Future Cruise Credit. We sincerely regret that we will be unable to deliver the Royal Caribbean cruise holiday that our guests were looking forward to. Our guest’s holiday time is very precious and we can assure you that we did not make this decision lightly. Guests should contact their local travel agent, or please feel free to call us on 1800 754 500.
