  1. Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me out with a few questions regarding my son’s peanut allergy. We will be on the Serenade of the Seas for an 11 night southern Caribbean cruise this December and he does have his allergy on file with RC. I will definitely ask onboard, but as a starting point - Does anyone know if the desserts served are safe for those with a peanut allergy? (He is only allergy to peanuts, all other nuts are fine). And how about the ice cream? Soft serve and otherwise. Does anyone know if it’s peanut-free without the dreaded “may contain peanuts” warning that usually comes from whatever factory it’s processed in? Any other help or guidance with their menu would be much appreciated ? My son is grown now (20yrs old), always carries his Epipens, and won’t cry if he can’t have the desserts... But I still love the excitement in his eyes when he finds out certain things are safe ?
  2. Hi everyone, my son had multiple food allergies. I know that bringing pre-packaged food with us for excursions is okay. But it was told to me by a cruiser on another page that we would be permitted to bring food off the ship for him that was prepared by the RC crew for excursions as well, and that if questioned about it we would just need to show his sail card which would indicate his allergy in the special needs section. (The allergy is noted on the reservation and I've submitted the Special Needs form) Wondering if anyone had any experience with this...?
  3. Has anyone experienced an allergic reaction to the ocean water? Just came back from the Caribbean and had a fabulous time on the Oasis of the Seas!! My first cruise and it was all and way more than hoped for!! (already booked next years) But after swimming in the ocean, my eyes started swelling and I got an angry rash on my face. Spent the second half of the voyage with cold compresses on my eyes, taking benadryl and wearing sunglasses a lot. I am seeing the doctor today, but I am guessing it's seaweed dermatitis. I was wondering if anyone else has had this type reaction?
