  1. I've seen people mention that kids get lanyards from Adventure Ocean. What about teens?
  2. I'm glad to hear this. We are a family of 4 and on our upcoming 3-night cruise, I really would like to dine with just us at the table. I'm okay with passing, brief friendly conversation with strangers, but I'm a bit shy, and the idea of an entire meal (let alone 3-nights in a row) of meals with people I do not know well was stressing me a bit.
  3. Something similar happened to me today. I called in to pre-pay our gratuities. The phone rep mentioned that he saw a balance owed on one of our rooms for $300+. I had made some changes to our reservation a couple of days ago and paid the balance then - even had an emailed invoice showing the changes and Zero due. I told him I thought there was an error and I could even send them back the zero due invoice if they wanted. He put me on hold, came back and said they had straightened it out except for $50+. Nope, still not right. So he put me on hold again and then came back to say it was all fixed. No idea what happened, but sure glad he happened to mention there was a balance owed showing. I think I'll print my invoices to bring with me ... just in case.
  4. Can you book up a level? We just did. We had an interior room for 4, booked after final payment date. Prices went down, so for a small fee, we now have 2 ocean view rooms with 2-people each. The agent on the phone had to get 2 other people to help her make it happen, but since we ultimately were actually giving them a little more money, they found a way to do it without charging any penalties. It may not get you your money BACK - but maybe you can get 'more for your money.'
  5. We just booked a bungalow there as an Anniversary present on our cruise at the end of the month. Can't wait! Really hope our CocoCay day doesn't get cancelled. :)
  6. I was able to rebook our 4-person interior cabin as 2 exterior 2-person cabins today and only paid the difference, which was minimal. Now we'll have more than twice as much space, 2 bathrooms instead of 1 - and we'll ALL sleep better!
  7. April 30 - and you are right - it might be cool for me, but this is for my husband and kids who have been known to go into the ocean at Myrtle Beach in December, so ... lol!
  8. I wouldn't expect a refund since it is after final payment - I'm just wondering if I could pay the difference between booking one room and two ... and wondering if the prices for an oceanview cabin might go down a bit in the next couple weeks since there are still several empties on the ship.
  9. I see the all-day water slide option. I see the 1-hour in the waterpark option. There is also a water park/slide combo. I can't really tell if the combo is 1-hour at the water park and all day on the slide? Or 1-hour total on both the waterpark and slide? Anyone know from personal experience? If it's all day on the slide, and 1 hour on the water park, with the current sale it looks like it only costs $3 to add the 1-hour at the water park vs. just buying the slide pass ....
  10. If I book and pay for an activity on CocoCay, but then we don't actually get to go to the island (due to weather) do I get the $ back? Just wondering if I want to take advantage of the current prebook sale, or wait and see what happens on that day ....
  11. We actually currently have an interior cabin booked for the Apr 28 sailing of Majesty of the Seas - all 4 of us in one cabin. I see that there are several places with adjoining (only 1 set of connecting) cabins still available, including a string of 10 neighboring oceanview cabins. I wonder what the chances are that the prices on those will drop in the next couple of weeks? I assume that if I want to change our current 1-cabin res to 2-cabins, I can call RC and just pay the difference?
  12. Some of the places like XelHa, Xcaret, etc. will require biodegradable sunscreen. If you have other sunscreen with you when you enter, they will make you throw it away. We purchased Alba Botanical biodegradable sunscreen before our trip down there. Just make sure that what you purchase has the word "biodegradable" on the package.
  13. Thank you. Is it possible to arrange for everyone's keys to open both rooms? (or keycards? - never cruised before, so a little unclear on how it all works)
  14. Can I book a cabin for my husband and I and put our 14 and 12 year old in a separate cabin nearby? Couldn't find age info, and since the 14 year-old is considered an "adult" when going through the booking process, I wasn't sure ...
  15. I might try that, but it does say in the top right corner under the price "Includes Taxes and Fees".
  16. Not a per person rate. I'm just doing a booking from scratch for our family of 4, same sailing we already have booked. I even told the lady on the phone the room number I was looking at and she came up with a different total. I did see online that on the per person pricing screen it says "+$25 Bonus savings at checkout". I wonder if that's the difference? Maybe that $25/person savings is only available online?
  17. When I look online, I can book a new reservation (outside view) for only $60 more than my current reservation (interior). But when I call to ask about changing (even giving them the new cabin number, they quote me $165 more to upgrade. Any idea why? I'm inside my full-payment date, so I don't think I can just make a new res and cancel the old one, right? Brand new to cruising, so unsure about all of it ....
  18. I see different shapes/sizes available, and having never cruised before, I have no idea what RCL tags are shaped like. Any guidance?
  19. I don't have a travel agent (booked it myself inside the final payment window, so can't transfer to an agent) so I guess I'll call RCL. Didn't realize that was an option. Thanks!
  20. We are 45 days from embarkation. I've checked Cruise Planner several times since booking to be able to schedule activities, and always get the 'You're either too early or too late to book' message. Anybody know which it is? Did we miss the booking window because we booked too close to departure? Or has it not opened up yet?
  21. I think the real question is not what would it cost you to buy these same items on land, but what would it cost to get 4 Rum & Cokes on the ship - that will tell you if it is a deal or no deal.
  22. Is there any benefit to signing up before a 1st cruise? We're doing a 3-night test cruise just to see if we even like it. Just wondering if I should wait and sign up later if there are not even any benefits for a 1st-time cruiser...
  23. Thank you for your answers. I booked this cruise myself, no travel agent and it was inside the paid in full date, so can't transfer to a travel agent. Is there a way to take care of those things myself?
  24. We have an upcoming 3-night cruise on Majesty of the Seas out of Port Canaveral just to see if we like cruises. I have done a lot of research and have already found answers to many of my questions. However, I haven't figured these out yet: What time can we board? (leaves port at 4pm) Preferences says “Room arrangement unknownâ€. What does that mean? How do I let them know we would like the Royal King and 2 pullmans? (We have room 7547. Interior, says "Stateroom has third and fourth Pullman beds available.") Preferences says “Cruise Celebrations: Noneâ€. We are taking this cruise to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. It is the month of our cruise, but our actual anniversary date isn’t during our cruise. Any benefit to notify them of that? How would I go about doing that?
