Anxious??  Are you kidding me?  I am going nuts!  Last night the system went down for maintenance and I stayed awake waiting for it to come back up (1:00 AM eastern) just in case they posted 2020 early.  When it finally came back, my heart was racing as if I was trying to grab tickets to a super-group concert!  This will be my biggest vacation ever (#1 on my bucket list) and the wait is driving me nuts!  Really hoping the last whole week in June is a south-bound Alaska on Radiance as my daughter-in-law says NO to any travel in July but  I want to travel as late as possible in June.  Will be happy with any balcony room but have one specific one in mind......so yes, I am ANXIOUS!!!  Will be up past midnight tonight (just in case) and up early tomorrow (and every day until it releases)!

lol......I am going to lose a lot of sleep next week!  (But it will be worth it)
 

Told my wife, when we do our Alaskan cruise i absolutely MUST walk into the Alaska Beer Company (Juneau) and order an Alaskan Smoked Porter.  I consider myself a bit of a beer connoisseur and despite drinking many of Germany and Great Britain's finest, consider the Alaskan Smoked Porter to be exceptional.  Really hoping to try it on tap while in Alaska.

Right now the plan is to grab an aft for me and my wife and a portal for my son and his wife....but depending on price diff i might as a surprise upgrade his to the aft next to us.  No matter what, I WILL be in Alaska in 2020!
 

That's my plan!  Only wish I knew precisely when next week the sale will start.  Needless to say i will be checking the site constantly.  Worth it for the trip of a lifetime

I didn't use any filters on this trip although a polarizing filter would have been very useful with the Salmon in the river.  I use Adobe Lightroom and I shoot all my pictures in RAW format.  This allows me to adjust the pictures later and recover or compensate tone, lighting and color.  This does take some time and it's why I didn't want to run this live blog from the ship - not enough time to process thousands of photos.   Here is the location of Nugget Falls.  It's a very easy path that you could do in flip-flops or running shoes.               

Have been virtually cruiing by watching all you periscopes for this trip.  Awesome job, and realy gettign me pysched up for my 2020 cruise (waitng impatiently for RC to open up the dates...)
 

For me, Southwest almost always is the cheapest flying out of Denver.  My April-May cruise dates arent open yet but using March as a test I can fly round trip to Hobby for just over $300.  The cheapest I can do other airlines is $265, but any money saved is easily surpassed by baggage fees.  That combined with the far superior "service" I recieve form SW employees makes this a virtual no-brainer for me.  FYI" Southwest will release thru Jne of 2019 on September 27

Correct. Passport card cant be used for international air travel.

Is size an issue?  Of course! (bt that has nothing to do with ships......)

As for culture shock, i am either totally insensitive or it doesn't exist.  Sailed on Liberty in January and absolutely loved it!  I didn't really notice any "Texas Vibe" when I was on board, and had a surprisingly great time in Galveston despite arriving there expecting nothing more than a place to lay-over till the ship left.

I must agree.  If you are close enough to be attacked, then you are clearly in THEIR SPACE.  Wild life is just that,  wild.  I have no problem with folks observing wild life from a good distance, I have no problem with rescue centers that allow controlled access to the animals.  But when you are out in their environment, on their turf, keep your distance.  If you are close enough that they are aware of you, and close enough that they alter their behavior because of your presence, you are too close!

If this is important to you I would recommend either carrying a copy of the above mentioned e-mail with you, or better yet write to RC yourself for clarification.

Such a terrible design!  How could anyone think this is an upgrade?  Sure, you can go to the "Already booked" option......but WHY??  Clearly you should be able to click on a cruise on your list and from there get all the options there are for that cruise (ie. the planner).  This seems to be a total disconnect!
 

When I traveled in January we simply linked the reservations together on-line and then used MTD.  We preselected our time for each night and as we chose each night, the on-line system gave us the option of adding other diners.  when we selected that option it then presented us a list of the other names that were linked to our reservation.  It was simple, easy, and worked without needing to call anyone.  Of course, since then we have experienced the "Great Web Update" and my next cruise doesn't present dining options yet so I have no idea how badly they may have screwed it up.

Strangely enough, Deck 4 chairs by the shuffleboard court!  While our wives were off at cupcake class, my son and I just sat there, shared a drink and talked life.  Most relaxing moment of the trip (even though neither of us cared for the drink (Dublin Ice Tea)

Yea, 97 makes sense too as that was the year of perihelion.  I just chose the year of discovery.
